> If my employer spies on my conversations with Psycho-Babble in which I talk about my health condition, and then they share this information with anyone else, even in a disciplinary action, can I sue my employer for breach of the new HIPAA regulations? Any lawyers in the house?

If your employer is like most employers I know of here in the United States, the policy is that you are not supposed to use the employer's computers for private purposes. If you are using the company computer, especially if you're using it on company time (while you're being paid to do your job), you can get in trouble, regardless of which Internet sites you visit. I've read that some employers use spyware that tracks every keystroke. Others use spyware that tracks which sites you visit. It would be better for you to use your own computer on your own time. Not only will that prevent your employer from reading your posts, but it will also set your mind at ease.

Another thing I hate to add here, but because using Dr. Bob does not constitute a doctor-patient relationship the HIPPAA privacy rules do not apply.

Yup, I'm with sb and jeff. Better not to use company computers and company time to babble.

If you don't have home internet access, I recommend the public library. That is what I did before I had internet access at home.
