Hey, 8 miles...

Posted by Racer on February 5, 2004, at 21:36:09

I don't know if you've read the thing Angielala posted about another website, but I'm very much interested in discussing politics with you a little more if you're willing. NOT debating who's right, I just want to understand better what The Other Side Thinks. If you're willing, and interested in discussing-not-debating politics with me, let me know and we can take it to very civilized email.

Whatcha say?

Yeah 8 miles... I just wanted to say, as I somehow didn't respond to your last post, I wasn't at all offended by what you said.... Can we still be friends???? Even if we don't agree on politics? Maybe we could agree on something else? I like long walks on the beach and red wine, for instance....

Just wanted to say I was sorry for not responding to your last post on the previous thread. I wasn't trying to be rude. I'm just lazy :)

And Racer.... Sorry to intrude on your thread... But, ummmm... Whaddya gonna do about it? Huh? :)

No, no, no.....I was in no way offended by ya'll, and as I posted above, I would be willing to play email tag. Two concerns, as I am working 14-hour days now (my boss is trying to make me quit or retire on disability, because, as he so eloquently states "You can't DO your job with all those drugs you are taking" he is basically trying to get rid of me any way he can)I don't always get more than just a few minutes on the computer each night (more so on weekends *for now*, until boss changes my days off). So I may not be able to do any sort of daily running dialogue. Secondly, I'm going out of the states for about two weeks next Thursday, so I won't be on line at all then (obviously). That being said, hook me up.

Awesome! I don't care if there's daily commentary, but I'd love to ask you a few questions about your political beliefs. My aunt said something to me about conservative republicans last time we spoke, and it made me realize I really don't know anything about what conservatives really believe.

When you get a chance, you can email me at your (alleged) leisure at babbler39 at excite dot com.

not all conservatives are the same

My Dad was a conservative. He campaigned for Eisenhower...I know that's a long time ago but my dad was a Nixon man too. My dad worked for J. Edgar Hoover too. He was a real conservative.
We used to argue politics all the time and he created 5 liberal to left wing children. Not a conservative in the bunch.
I hope you can dialogue together but it is sometimes really challenging.
I am still to the left of liberal.
good luck
