one more abbreviation question

. . . what does LOL mean?

I'm sure it will seem quite obvious, once someone tells me.

several things actually.... it depends on the context. You have to be very careful!

lots of lovin
loins on a lobster
location of the locamotive
logarithm or log (since they are the same thing you know, though it isn't used in that context frequently here....sorry)

lecture over lunch
laxative often leaky
liaison often lethal
lager obliges laggardness
laugh out loud

Take your pick, just be careful that you don't use it at the wrong time to mean the wrong thing! You wouldn't want to accuse anyone of being a drunkard, now would you?

hmmm . . .

I had heard it was "laugh out loud" before, but frequently I see it in places where that doesn't make sense . . . unless my sense of humor is way off from everyone else's (not too much of a stretch, that).

lots of lovin' (with an "n apostrophe" rather than an "ng", no less) implies something rather different than "lots of love"

so i think i'll pick the loins of lobster.

thanks!

Are you sure you don't want to stick with lots of lovin'? That'd be my choice? In my house there's no such thing as "loving", there's only "lovin'".... But, I suppose the choice is up to you.....Although I'd have to assume the loins of a lobster would be rather small.......To each his (or her) own...

oh my. i was thinking dinner, not . . . whatever:) (nm)

Sorry player Number 2, you forgot to include the correct answer as well. But, Alex Trebek does have a wonderful parting gift for you. What, you say? How about a lovely, beautiful------Fist full of NOTHING! Ha Ha!

Let's try some more! I used to play a game called Balderdash, which has a catagory similar to this with initials. I liked it quite a bit.

ROFL:

Right on, Flying Llama!
Round or Flat Leadpipes
Rings of Faltering Luster
Rabbits Obviously Feel Lumpy
Regurgitating on Factory Linoleum
Repulsive Ogres Fear Little (I know, they have layers like onions. I've seen Shrek!)
Rolling On Floor Laughing

[Referring Only (to) Future Litigation],
(If More Help [is] Offered)
[Be Truthfully Warned]
(Of My Goal):
TO BE A SMART ALECK!

Oh, and I have a tie between two of yours:

Really Overbearing Freudian Leanings?
Right-wing Obtuse F%@#-up Loser?

I promise I'll stop now.

rumsfield opens fire, loves
royal oil fields leaking.
