Early Christmas present from the old man...
Sorry. Just have to brag. My day is getting brighter by the minute :)

Hello??? Of course. Wait a second. Now, is this some kind of trick question? I have internal organs on the inside. But, my character is flawless baby, flawless..... :) [Now, that doesn't quite make me sound like I have diamonds on the inside, does it???]

Oh baby! Wonderful. What did you get?? I went to Tiffany's and got my diamonds steam-cleaned today.. that's almost as good, right? I drooled over the cases on the way out.. but no new jewels for me this year.

Oh, but we're not married... :) We've been together for over 5 years, but no signs of a ring yet. We're waiting until we're both out of school. He's done, and I've a year and a semester to go. So, don't push me MOTHER!! He he..

Oooh. You said 'old man'. Somehow I translated it into hubby. Wow, that's even better. A non-spousal mate who gives nice jewelry.

I find old man to be so much more sophisticated than boyfriend, don't you agree?

old man.. reminds me of hippies, but it is kind of cute. Boyfriend is just too youngish, significant other is kind of pretentious. There's just no good word.

I'd just be afraid if I called him old man he'd start calling me old lady. Noooo thank you.

Funny, when I used to call him at work and he wasn't available Id say, "Can you have him call his old lady back?" The guys, knowing full well that I am far from an old lady, would just laugh.

I just feel like a teenager saying boyfriend. And I did get the term old man from a hippie friend. I could say beau, but I prefer old man. It's just kinda stuck with me through the years.

Of course, I do have other names for him that I use on a regular basis. But I wouldn't want Dr Bob to have to step in.....

I know what you mean. Boyfriend just doesn't seem to do it after the five year mark. (We've been together for 6 1/2 years.) And even now that we're engaged, fiance (sp?) just doesn't feel right either. But if I say anything other than husband, people assume that our daughter is not his, which she is. By the way, I designed and bought the ring and then gave it to him to propose when he felt it was right. I waited 9 months! You go girl. You deserve those diamonds. Shoot, I got pjs and workout clothes! But I think I'm getting lingerie for my birthday next week. . .
