I got an e-mail saying how lucky we are if we have spare change in a dish, than your part of the world's richest 10%, how if you have your health (ha, ha) your ahead of 6 million people. It was a gratitude e-mail. I tend to cringe when I get them. It's hard to be grateful when your stressed out. I tend to look at it like, hey I'm not in the hospital - I can get up when I want and go to sleep when I want and I can eat what I want when I want to. I have a job, I have a great dog - which reminds me - there is a really good book called "dogs don't bite when a growl will do". It's how we can learn a lesson or two from our pets. They are always ready to play, usually pretty happy, don't hold grudges, etc. The book & my dog usually help me to look on the brighter side of things. Hey, if he can eat the same thing day after day and still be happy, than I can find one or two things too. I hope you feel better and thanks for helping me to look on the bright side too.

oh justyourlaugh

i'm sorry to hear that things are going crappy
when everyone is "happy"
and shoving down your throat all things sappy

so let's try a 10 ...
1. here's to poetry, even the crappy!
2. here's to music, and playing with the band.
3. here's to flowers, so fresh and alive.
4. here's to my keyboard, which typed a 4 after much hesitation.
5. here's to dancing, the friendly folk kind, with fancy french-canadian names like the plongeuse
6. here's to roast beast, and the sunday roast - mine was roast pork
7. here's to "working" - which is really "lazing" over the holidays
8. here's to saving my vacation days for a time of the year and a place of my choosing, and not being held hostage to holiday traditions
9. here's to the longer days now that the solstice has passed
10. here's to the freedom to change

i hope you can find peace and a good night's rest in all this chaos.

I like your ability to see the good in the bad. I always enjoy that lack of sleep jump in mood too. And congratulations on not cutting!

((jyl)) I'm sorry that things aren't up to par right now. It seems that you are holding up nicely though. And you aren't cutting! Superfantastic!

-Diamonds
-My doggie loves me as much as I love him
-I haven't cut for over 5 months
-Thom, from Queer Eye (now, if only I were male, hmmmm)
-Christmas, with only my dog (no family BS)
-Semester break
-Haven't seen my therapist in a week (he's stupid anyway and I needed a break!)
-Children at the mall (aren't they precious?)
-Your first cup of morning coffee
-Nieces, but NO children (YES!!!!)

Hey, I actually had to erase some... I could go on forever!

>here's to the longer days now that the solstice has passed

I was just thinking this yesterday! The best thing about the shortest, darkest day of the year is that they start to get longer now! So every day I can look forward to a few more moments of day light. Now, if I can only get out of my windowless office to appreciate it.....
