You are all so good at your writing. You manage to make the intolerable touchable; able to be understood by others.
People with hearts will be able to read what you've written, and maybe be able to feel a tiny bit of what is going on in ours.
Thank you so much for sharing your hearts here.

Love
I want to give it
pain flows out the umbilical tear that ripped my heart
in what chamber of heaven did my soul choose this wound
I came to earth so ill prepared
sucking that frozen catatonic teat
soul growth is what I demanded from this rapture
my back bent from the weight of all my sins
oh Buddha that I might share the joy
to know the divine

At dusk the light turns a violet azure and my body, mind and spirit relaxes. I like to go out into that color and imagine I can become one with it. During the red orange day of sunlight I am pursued by the hounds of my mother who insists that we children go out and play. Through out the ink black of the night I am hounded by the fears of that which is lurking behind my dolls, in my closet and under my bed. At the first of dawn the same blue hue appears but upon the heels of that respite is the unrelenting brilliance of day. On rainy days the sky can cloud up and obscure the burning ball to quietly lay a blanket of soft gray and blue. I love the feeling of quiet and rest I get then but at any moment the burly wind can blow the cotton mass of clouds into the eastern horizon. I lay in wait for the only color that matches my emotional interior. It seems to be closest to the color of the divine. I am in bliss at the end of the day.

The idea of a fiction board has come up before... "Art" to me would include images, and I'm not sure how that would work... "Writing"? All posting is writing... "Creative Writing"? Sounds like a class...

I think the idea of a creative babble would be great. I am sure that most of us do write poetry in an attempt to get our feelings "out", to express ourselves, even if is only for our own benefit.

On a different track, I have also used creative writing to my psychiatrist. He told me I could send him 1000 e-mails if I wanted. I thought he was being facetious, so I sent him a very interesting e-mail (I thought) where I made up a wonderful story of how I had arrived at work naked, accused the cleaner of being a spy, got taken home to get clothes, leapt out of the car at the traffic lights, dashed to the car behind, told the driver I was minor British royalty about to be abducted and insisted he drive me to an open field where I could get vital info beamed down to my left brain from a secret station which I would translate from hieroglyphyics and save the world. The enemy would probably try to extricate this information from my ear with their penises. This story of course had lots of embellishment. I tried to factor in as much "delusionary thinking" as possible. Anyway, it was creative writing, you could say. My psychiatrist did read it I am embarrased to admit, after I thought he wouldn't!
I had some explaining to do!!!!

short story babble? I see what you mean about Art...images as described by words? So we are looking for a way to describe and carve out the site? I guess poetry & short story babble. This at least would have the intent of what we would like to express? What do you think?

I have created some art as well, and if there were a way to support it, I might like to add some images. Short of this, how about "Poetry and Prose"?

So the question is how can this site support images. I know they take a lot of memory? I do images as well.
Art babble?
I would love a site like this.

How about "words as art "
or "Creative expressions "
"Poetry short story babble"
" The phoenix " reffering to out of the ashes comes life
Maybe this might fuel some short titles for such a creative board

Oh to travel time
Erase the winds of fate
Tearing a gossamer thread
That led to pain or hate

Taking the cunning weave
Of a spider web
Silver spokes of a wheel
On which tears were shed

To hang in the sun
Dark spiders of fear
Shining spots of dew
Shadow of our tears

“Hi Dad,” I said into the phone.
“What, what did you say,” dad yelled back with panic edging into his voice.
“I love you,” I said louder hoping his hearing aid would catch the sound. I could hear it’s piercing tone revealing that he had turned it up full blast.
“Oh god, I’ll have to wait till Peg’s back,” he said hanging up the phone in anger.
I dreamed that night he could hear me. That we sat quietly in the sunlight and talked about everything. The next morning I waked with such a feeling of love and loss. He was not dead like other peoples fathers but sometimes it felt like it because he was beyond my reach in the land of silence.

I think that this is a great idea. Art babble maybe could use a gallery of some sorts, so people could see images. I would love that personally, cause I use art as my balance point, if that makes any sense to anyone. For the writing part, mabye prose and poetry or just prose babble. The poems above are excellent and I would love to read more.

One word is too often profaned
For me to profane it,
One feeling too falsely disdained
For thee to disdain it;
One hope is too like despair
For prudence to smother,
And pity from thee more dear
Than that from another.

I can give not what men call love,
But wilt thou accept not
The worship the heart lifts above
And the Heavens reject not,-
The desire of the moth for the star,
Of the night for the morrow,
The devotion to something afar
From the sphere of our sorrow?

that rests easy on my brain *smile* (nm)

A board for an anthology of each of our own (personal), non-fiction, psychiatric 'stories'. They would never be complete, but like some of the good books on the topic out there, many may find comfort in reading lengthy stories that they can relate to.

Stopping By Woods on a Snowy Evening

Whose woods these are I think I know.
His house is in the village though;
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow.

My little horse must think it queer
To stop without a farmhouse near
Between the woods and frozen lake
The darkest evening of the year.

He gives his harness bells a shake
To ask if there is some mistake.
The only other sound's the sweep
Of easy wind and downy flake.

The woods are lovely, dark and deep.
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.
Robert Frost

This poem choked me up to read again. My mother used to read it to us children at bedtime.

My sister sits on the I.Q. throne
I cry out, "I am somebody"
I uncurl from my fetal position
My voice fades to a whisper
"Aren't I?"
"Yes, you are a peasant!"
She tips her head in recognition of my uttering
I am so lucky she took the time and energy to answer me
You see my sister's I.Q. has much more important things to think about
"Why is everything so emotional with you?" she demands
Why do I disturb her with my emotional needs?
She is irritated on her dais
I have lost all favor
Silence descends
I curl back into my fetal position

Jai
ps(can you believe she really did call me a peasant?!!)

Question: If a pariah calls a person a peasant, who is demeaning whom? I would tend to assume that all within a home are of the same class, unless, of course, one within that family finds a way to exit the class system entirely.
In that case, it is possible to move from upper, middle, or lower to the ubiquitous category X, but few can make that transition succesfully. I understand that most of them are Babblers, so you've got a fairly good chance. Check out the book "Class".
This transition has been my salvation. It has given me the opportunity to exit my abusive, proletarian, acolytiphile, upbringing, and exit the class system entirely. I can now look at those who looked down on me, and say with glee, "You're looking the wrong way". What's better, is that you can look at anybody, from any point of vantage. Oh bliss!
I bid you all... eXit the useless american caste system. Be ye prole, be ye upper, be ye pariah, whatever.... X is the answer.
So, um, what was the question? :-)
Dee.

Good Question. My family was split up into two classes. My mothers family and then my dads. My mothers family was about the richest in town vs my very poor father . The whole thing was classic she in the big house he across the river on the wrong side of the tracks. So all the children who became my mothers favorites=upper class. Well since my father came from low beginnings and was working at the age of 10= working class. My sister who my fathers favorite = working class. My mother was always jealous of that. I was outright rejected by my mother...so I sort of fell into my fathers camp but really got raised by numerous other people & relatives. That's how that can happen. Oh joy.
>Check out the book "Class".
thank you I think I will.

You are so much fun, I want to make up a question just to get your attention.
