I'm stuck in the house with no lights on

except the glow of the computer. Trying unsuccessfully to dissuade the trick or terrorists from coming to my door. Even though the screen door is locked they're banging on the wall! Doesn't exactly put me in the mood to dole out candy--which I don't have anyway. I'm sitting on the floor eating roasted chicken, green beans and a yam. I also have a side of mac and cheese for emergency purposes.

Hard to eat in the dark.

Hehehee! I'm doing the same thing. I have all the lights off...so far only one came to the door. Hopefully they will take a hint... :)

Well the pouring rain drove most everyone away, but then the power went completely out.

Alone, in the dark, I called him

He was busy.

I used to love handing out the candy to the munchkins, trying to comment on each costume (but sometimes they came in such droves it was impossible) and reassuring the frightened wee ones. I always tried to be the candy hander outer in the family.

The neighborhood I moved to when I married is so quiet in comparison. We get maybe five or six trick or treaters and most of the house lights are off.

My parents street seemed to love Halloween. There was usually at least one block party going on. And judging by the sheer numbers of little tykes (my mother had three hundred last year), I suspect that people travel to trick or treat there.

We went there this year, and the activity was down some from when I was little but still the upper half of the street was as lively as ever. We stopped to listen to the fifties music of the block party a block away.

Hi Dinah!
So nice to see your post. Sounds like you had a good night. There was a block party going on near my street too, which accounted for all the people--still I've never seen such persistent T.Or T'ers. They were probably twenty year olds.

How have you been?
