Hi Ayla!
Just wanted to share that I am 27 :o)Thank you for sharing!
Adia.> Hi there all! I am not trying to get too personal or cross any lines but I feel like I am getting to know you all pretty quickly and I am just wondering if any of you are willing to share your ages with me. It would really help me get a feel for who I am talking to, and it doesn't even have to be completely specific you could maybe put 20's 30's 40's etc. Keep in mind that it won't bother me one little tiny bit if you don't respond to this. I am 20 years old, engaged to another 20 year old that I have been with for 5 years! We live together at his Dad's house for the last 3 years. We definately took a different path but it is really hard to start something so young yet really wonderful because we got to grow up together. Anyways sorry to ramble on and on (as usual). Just let me know if ya don't mind.
> Thanks,
> Ayla

Forty someodd. I don't suppose I'll keep close track again till I hit 50. I always say I'm a year older than I am, so when my birthday comes I won't be surprised. :)
You know, I think I like getting older. There are difficulties that weren't there before, healthwise. And I'm not looking forward to menopause. But other than that, there is something relaxing about getting older, to me.

Exactly how I pictured you, Dinah. Old enough to be wise, young enough to be vibrant. I'm not speaking lightly when I say that you are such a blessing to me. (It almost makes me believe in God!--Remember those conversations? Let's take them up again soon.)

I am 26 yrs. I feel like I am going on 45. Not that 45 is old. I do not consider that old at all. I just grew up too fast. I regret it. However, I wld not give anything for my two girls.

I'd like that. Tho I'm a bit down in my religious, oh, can't think of the proper word. Anyway, I'm not getting as much contentment from my faith as usual.

I'm sorry to hear that. I know how disconcerting it is to find yourself feeling suddenly spiritually disconnected. Why do you think you're not feeling as content?

I will turn 27 in March. However, when people ask me my age, I keep telling them 27. I will correct myself and tell them 26. There must be something magical about that age or 27 has something in it for me. I sure hope so. It just started recently. I can say 25 was terrible. It was the, "Okay, so what am I here for. Where am I going with my life?" age. I still kind of have that emotion.

I just turned 27 week before last, and it was terrible. Not that there's anything wrong with being 27, but there are just so many things I haven't done yet, and I guess I had things in mind for 27 that won't be. 27 was always the age where I said, "Okay, well I'll be (a) and (b) and (c) by the time I'm 27" and instead I'm still doing the same things I did at 26 and 25 and 24.
I guess if I make it to 30 at least I will feel somewhat like a survivor. Because on my better days things don't seem too overwhelming, but on most days I just wonder how I'm going to get through tomorrow...
Not happy to be 27. Though I guess I don't feel any different. Hoping it's better for you!

I am 34. Depression and anxiety hit me when I was about 26.

hi Hannah,
this is "next" week, so ...
... ... H A P P Y
... ... B I R T H D A Y
... ... H a n n a h !! !! !! !! !!
> I'll be 34 next week.i can almost remembr 34 ...
... ... but then i can remember this morning like it was only yesterday ... ... ...> My husband and I got married when I was still 18, almost 19. We just had our 15th anniversary last week. We were actually in the same kindergarten class, but we didn't get to know each other until 7th or 8th grade. We didn't start dating until 11th grade, broke up for our senior year, and then got back together shortly after we began college. Our wedding was a year later. This certainly isn't the smartest path for most people, but it was the right choice for us. I hope that 15 years from now you'll be saying the same thing! :) >
i offer our history for contrasts ... in success, fortunately ...
... ... sylvia and i are wed now 17 years this last august ... ... i was 35 and she 28 ... ...
... when i went ask her parents for her hand in marriage, i told them we had know each other 4 weeks ... ... i lied ... ... we had been involved 2 weeks ... ... they gave us their blessings anyway
... then my dad gave us his blessings over the phone to me and extended the family welcome to sylvia without even seeing or hearing, let alone meeting her ....i would definitely NOT recommend our history as a means to matrimonial success either ... ... our success in despite very bad statistics for very short courtship marriages ... ...
... yet we found each other and it has been very good ... ... we are twice blessedand happy anniversary!

hiya - i haven't been on these boards for ages so no-one knows me at all... but I logged on exactly cos I was feeling really really miserable about turning 25 in two months time. so it was weird to come across this thread. I KNOW I AM NOT OLD. But I feel it. And I know it's rude to people who are older - sorry everybody, please forgive me for being realy self-centred. I used to be on PB a lot from 2001-2002 cos I was going through a particularly bad phase in my seven-year depression. Am now kind of doing okay (touch wood), am not on meds and feel like I am starting to sort a lot of things out. But I am also really ******** ANGRY. Cos I feel like I've lost the best years of my life. Most of the time I manage not to think about it but then it comes back (particularly when I have birthdays!) I haven't done any of the things I wanted to do. i haven't even been the person I wanted to be. I get to the point where I feel like I'm going to throw up cos I feel so scared that I have wasted so much time being depressed and alone and too frightened to do anything. I know it is not my fault, and there are far worse things in this world anyway. I am very lucky in lots of ways!
Sorry, whinge whinge. Anyway.
GG
