Ok, don't you be gettin' all, "I got Kar back to Soe-shul, I got Kar back to Soe-shul". You are rather um, tempting...and I like it here but here's the problema. The indiscriminate, willy-nilly, higgledy piggledy, helter skelter, random, ridiculous, spastic, unfair and un-called-for blocking and pbc'ing is getting on my noives. Moreso than before. And ESPECIALLY since the Gabbi Incident. It just made me so friggin' mad.
Then Roo.
What the- why- huh-? And oh come on.I don't feel as if Dr. Bob dealt with these 2 situations responsibly. At all. And I miss my Gabbarina. She has many friends here and is an as*et to the board. I feel as if blocking her for THREE WEEKS esp since she was NOT 'uncivil' in the first place, is ridiculous. I'm not trying to offend anyone or 'put anyone down'. It just makes me sad when this happens again and again. Esp in this community where some people have very very little support in their lives.
Roo was being supportive! She was asking how someone felt!! i think that even if she had chosen to write shi**y, anyone who would've gotten offended from the uncensored version would get offended by that. That's just craaaazy talk.
I used to just justify this whole thing by remembering that Dr. Bob's board has really helped me and others by creating this community. and I've met many wonderful folks here. But something's got to give.
Sigh.

PBC me or block me if you feel the need, Dr. B. I'm just weary of it all.And in addition to all that, I found chocolate on my phone this am and I don't know how it got there.

i just couldn't resist. it's kinda like how a few of us girls learned sign language at school to thwart the "no talking" rule. in all seriousness, i certainly share your frustration. i'm still irritated that sphinx got banned for quoting flannery o'conner. i figure, there's no way one man could make everyone happy all of the time, and i do believe that he tries to do the best he can. it is his site, and i can leave if i don't like how he runs it. i've said all that before, i know; but i really mean it. when i'm not happy about a comment, i mention it. sometimes, when i'm *very* irritated about a PBC, block, or other situation, i read but don't post for a few days until i achieve some emotional distance.
like you, i still think it's a shame about ROO, especially when she was just showing concern for someone else. how's about, maybe, folks shouldn't *read* the posts if they can't be adult enough to handle the language of the real world? just a musing, mind. i could argue most anything in a million different ways. it's been both a blessing and a curse.
maybe getting creative and silly with semi-pseudo-subjectively-objectionable language might be the golden ticket...peut-etre en francais, as jim suggested. carry on as usual being "so shall", only leave off with those tired, common swear words. i was getting bored of them anyway as i use them far too often offline! let's see how far out we can swim before we get reeled back in. i'm always up to a creative linguistic challenge, as i'm guessing you are. i don't own a well worn copy of "Finnegans's Wake" for nothing, sweetie!
how can "hail" be wrong when he** is okay? they're certainly not interchangeable...or are they? (insert laugh of evil genius sound effect) the first one can bonk you on the haid in a storm and is comprised of frozen H2O, while the latter is a singular masculine pronoun with two little decorative stars tagged onto it. adorable! nothing objectionable there that i can see.
must sleep now so i can get up and go swim so i can feel more calm and lose weight (only to get pregnant and just gain it all back). no ice cream for me, just some seroquel sprinkles to go, please.

I expected to wake up blocked for 4 weeks and nothing happened. My husband and I had a little bet. i said I'd get numerous PBC's and he was sure I'd get blocked. It's not a game- I'm not trying to-but sometimes...Were you lurking for the Krissy/Galkeepinon Incidents? Many of her posts have been deleted. She did some really bad things to many people who supported and trusted her. I'm not slamming- I just think it's important for people who are welcoming her with open arms to understand how bad this was. I feel as if...well, if they weren't there at the time they really shouldn't make comments on it. Because they just don't know. It was BAD.

Same here. but when it becomes harmful for people who've been through depression, etc, then it's gone too far. yeah, anyone can stop reading specific posts...but some people here NEED the support of the board. They have little else. So when something like this happens I get really pissed of. yeah, not just MAD, upset...protective...enraged...I don't know.And whatever about the 'swearing' stuff. Do you remember the Lemonheads? it's a shame about Ray. I agree of course...I'm just being silly. Yeah I don't even KNOW Roo, but I like her posts and just think it's ridiculous. but she also strikes me as the kind of woman who'd be ok if banned for a week. I jsut thought it was one more obnoxious issue in this latest turn of events.

Sometimes a block might be more than just a broken rule. Who knows when Psycho-Social-Babble stops being helpful and healthy. When do we start prefering PSB & co to our real lives and tangible friends? When we babble-speak our lives away in random thoughts and incomplete sentences? In here, I don't have to conform to society. My thougts zoom off in tangent and bounces off all of yours.
He may be unfair. Even *justice* can be unfair. He might hate the direction this website has taken. He may block some people to kick their hiney's back into the real world. Or maybe he takes a dislike to some of us.
Or maybe I'm insane. :) It's possible. Don't bite the hand that feeds you, even if he twists your ears, until you're strong enough to move on.
I still need this place. Until I find an Effexor replacement. Until I can handle life.

NEVER EVER wanted you blocked. :) Only 2 people have I wished blocked for their remarks and they were obvious rule breakers. I was trying to brainstorm. Not my theories or beliefs, just my way of trying to understand "why". In my Real Life, I would joke with my son from possible real reasons to the absurd to make him laugh. Like "blocking only Posters who name begins with the letter G on the 5th day of every month".
