Very nice Tabitha. And a neatly kept lawn as well! I've never thought the gas grills give quite the flavor of those charcoal ones though. We got one of those ones that start with newspapers instead of lighter fluid (my husband doesn't like chemicals), but haven't tried it yet. Hmmm.....

You've inspired me, Tabitha.

Happy lounging!

I got a Weber grill.. model 'A' or some such.. That amazing easy start up-- press the button and go.

Ted, share your kabob recipe? I bought skewers.

I made chicken, next step dead cow flesh.

Dead cow flesh tastes delicious grilled. :) I think my father's grilled sirloin steak is one of my favorite meals of all time. I always get afraid I'll undercook it and end up turning it into a briquette, but he really had the right touch.

Jujeh Kabobs (Persian chicken kabobs)

1 package (1.5 pounds?) boneless-skinless chicken breasts, cut into large bite-sized pieces
1 large onion, chopped fine
approx. 1 cup olive oil
1-1/2 tsp thyme
1/2 tsp fresh ground black pepper
2 lemons, juiced

1. In a large food storage container, add the onion, thyme, pepper, and about 1/2 cup oil. Mix well.
2. Add chicken pieces. Mix well.
3. Add enough additional oil to completely cover the chicken. Mix well.
4. Cover & place in refrigerator for a minimum of 4 hours. I ususally marinate for 48 hours. Stir occasionally.
5. When ready to cook, place chicken pieces on skewers.
6. Cook on grill, sprinkling lemon juice on the chicken as it cooks. Turn at least once. Cook only until golden-brown.

Serve with vegetables and pilaf

(If you're interested, I also have a Turkish kabob recipe)

well.. I was trying to create a nice space for entertaining.. I experimented on the new guy(Memorial day party of two), but it didn't go so well. We ended up having sort of a fight and now no communication for 2 days. He gobbled up plenty of steak though.

Oh, please don't fret yet
can you tell if the two days will most likely become weeks ect...?
If so, it's his lose, right???
You have done great with all this and he was sorta a cute fluke;
What's one kiss?--
maybe the "blockbuster boy" thought it was erotic
who knows what he may have done with the image at the end of the shift=:)
AND, there's always the Mormons...

really, tabby, like you said it's been years for you and this has been a huge giant step.
Initially, fears are "confirmed"--but don't
forget about forward progress, how a "summer fling" started to blossom and that it's not even june yet.
