My sister is going to a "Speed Dating" evening tonight ... it all sounds completely horrendous to me from what she`s told me, but maybe it`s a good idea?
Does anyone know anything about this, or had any experience with it? I feel quite anxious for her, and am keen to learn more from other people. Any info will be good.

I have not done it, but I think it's a great idea. You sit down for 8-minute 'dates' with a bunch of people, then at the end of the evening you say who you want to see again. If they also pick you then you both get contact info.

don`t give up the day job ...According to my sister, you are allotted 3 minutes with each bloke (and vice versa), then you have to tick one of 3 boxes, 'no', 'yes' or 'friend'. If your ticks coincide with the other person involved, then you follow it up (email addresses, phone numbers).
Frankly I`d rather have all my toenails ripped out without anaesthetic. But then I`m just a scaredy-cat.

I have done it and it is great fun! Not that it led to anything, but it was all very entertaining just the same.
