Has Dr. Bob gone psycho-delic or are my meds doing strange things with my eyesight?

And just how is it your husband is so wise in the ways of hallucinogenic spellings, Hmmm? Ask him if I'm spelling psilocybin right. Ask him if I'm spelling lysergic acid diethylamide right. How about peyote? The last time I saw a morph like the Dr. Bob picture was at an Austin, Texas Grateful Dead show in 1985. Heh, Heh
See ya,

Okay, I'll bite - why? (And why do I get the feeling that "ass" [like donkey] is going to be part of the answer? ^_^

After working today, I could use a good joke. Boy, do I hate that store I work at. I only work part time as the union covers med costs.

Iso,
Your pretty sharp. The answer is "because nobody likes a smart ass".
I hate where I work too. That's why if you'll notice, I don't post past 5:00 PM Texas time Monday thru Friday or on the weekends. My home computer is an E machine model POS & after working on a computer at work all day, I really don't even want to see one after work. Do you know what the POS stands for?

Let's see now - POS could mean a Point-of-Sale device (but I doubt that you're running a business from home), Programmable Object Select (which I also doubt), or judging from your posts, most likely means Piece of Sh*t, seeing that you only post from work. You have an old comp at home? So once again, I'm biting - ah, the fishing's good today! - want to enlighten me?

My son's a programmer & after working on computers all day, he comes home & reads or plays games on computers. What a sweet, lovable nerd!

I thought I'd go into the computer field a few years back but after taking a semester of comp courses (hardware, programming, software, & technical writing), I realised that I'd rather shoot myself in the foot than working in front of a computer day after day. I need physical activity to feel good. I don't know how my son does it, or you.

IsoM,
You are right again!! Can't seem to put one over on you. I can't think of anymore "do ya git its" right now. You'd probably get em anyway. Your sharp as a whip. Hope work was'nt to bad today.

Nothing wrong with being a computer geek or nerd, actually something to be proud of. I do love computers & can spend a lot of time on one but I'm ADHD & can't sit still for long unless I'm hyperfocusing. I found that the semester I took courses in computing, I felt terrible physically. My muscles were sore, everything ached, & I had almost constant headaches. It's caused by too little activty for me.

Another thing is I hate learning economic/financial/business matters. Much of the programming done is for other companies & involves that sort of thing. What I learned is valuable but not what I'd want to do all day. It's not so much the computer, but the line of work involved.

My son, watching me work with my plants one day, told me that it's the sort of work I should do as I was so happy, singing to myself. I'm totally content & at peace when I do so.

What languages did you program in, & what sort of programs did you work on? I never got beyond the basics of C & HTML. My son can program in over 10 languages. He taught himself them all, even Assembly language! His bosses have told him he's in the top 1% of the best programmers world-wide. I think his Asperger has been a benefit to him with computers & I'm glad he's finally found his niche where he's valued & feels confident.

I love asking him questions relating to computing - I'm an eager student & he loves explaining it to me. I'm still fascinated with it all, what the capabilities of computers are, & where they're going. The development of nanotachnology is closely tied in with its advances.
