I can't believe that thirty-nine years have passed since JFK was killed.

I was born 40 years -- on 11/22/62 and therefore a first birthday, which some say is a fairly important psychological milestone -- was never accknowledged.
Now before you jump on me, and I apologize if you weren't going to ... Mrs. Kennedy had birthday parties for John and Caroline (both November birthdays) after their father had been killed. So perhaps Mrs. K. knew of the importance of some sort of normalacy in the face of the horrible.
The date is so closely linked for me that every time I am asked for my birthday -- if the person is say born after 1970 or so -- they look up and give me a look, and I say, "No, that was my 1st birthday, not the day I was born."
This is the end of the thread.
