I'm sorry Robin. I know how it feels to have feelings of loss. Is there someone else you can talk to? Try to stay positive. :) Post here, or maybe another board somewhere?

RDJ, I am sorry for your loss. I know it can be tough.

Once about 13 years ago I was betrayed by 2 of my very best close friends. I was heartbroken- it was the most difficult summer of my life. One of the 2 was a boyfriend (see "the past is now", above) and the other was my very bestest girl-friend. You can imagine how that went. Anyhow, I tried to remain friends with my best girl-friend, but it was way too painful, and I didn't talk to her for about 3 years. God, I missed her so much, even though she had hurt me so badly.

Then when I met my husband I was so happy, and so over that boyfriend. I finally called her and we picked up almost like nothing happened. We are still very close to this day, almost 10 years later. We just don't talk about that awful summer. Occasionally we mention the guy, usually to say we've seen him, or we are glad neither of us ended up with him.

Rambling again. Here is my point. Whatever caused you not to talk to this close friend, you can probably get past it. Your friend probably misses you too. And it isn't necessarily a sign of weakness to be the one to reestablish contact.

As a disclaimer, there are some things that come between friends that should be deal breakers. And I don't recommend calling till you are sure you're over the issue.

I wish you good luck with this. I really do know it is tough...

Take care,
Mal
