...what these boards are about.
It was from reading Alii's message & seeing "...of any of us as your test subjects."
That's it - test subjects! We all know that the comments used in these forums are partly for research. To properly conduct research & have results that can be used as bonafide data, there first must be a hypothesis. I'm not sure what the exact wording of it would be, but something along the lines of:
Testing how people with different disorders interact with three different scenarios -
1. relaxed, low-key rules
2. strict, harsher rules & blockings
3. purposely vague & inconsistent rules & blocks based on no conceivable known rules.By noting how test subjects react under 3 different control environments, researcher(s) can perhaps extrapolate how society & its normal conventions break down over time.
Changing the environment that we post in, our reactions are being noted & will probably make it into some scientific papers somewhere.
I just know I don't particularly like being a lab rat.
Wonder if someone got their inspiration from "Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH".

Hysterically funny! Both you, Judy, and the title of the book. It's for real! The mice in the story are escapees from the NIMH. So - others - if you need a lift, read the reviews by kids on the amazon page, a veritable hoot. Made MY day...

you can suggest for November:0)
Interesting note, I studied childrens lit, and when I read this book, I enjoyed it so much, I sent it to my dad to read...later I learned that is where he had gone for ECT. He never commented on it, nor on the book.

Mousie, glad to hear from you, I always seem to catch you by your tail in open chat...
Weirdly enough, I stumbled upon this book in a 4th grade classroom TODAY (about 12 hours after I read Judy's post). The world is indeed a strange and wonderful place...
Hope you are feeling alright, or as alright as you can be...yer pal,
Wendy
