Call Me Hey Dude!

Posted by Bobby on August 9, 2002, at 22:26:35

I can only imagine that i was taken too seriously concerning the "sweatheart" and "cutey." Believe me my ego is not that inflated. I'm not a jock and not a nerd--just an average guy. I've never even been to a starbucks! ( don't drink coffee). Sorry if I sound a bit tired but when it's 10 p.m. on the west coast---It's 1 a.m. here in the deep south. That's o.k. I'm a night owl. The morning belongs to my wife---but when the sun goes down----aaahhhhh......

I don't think anyone took you that seriously Bobby we were just having a little fun, sorry that it came across that way!

Now I will tell you about my fruitless search for Michael Franks.... The only places around here to shop are mega stores.. which I hate with a passion. They also throw my entire equilibrium off. I go in looking for soy milk, and end up getting lost in the baby clothes section, am overwhelmed by the 1500 kinds of toothpaste and end up completly lost frustrated and generally walk out empty handed not remembering what I needed until I get back home.

Well this time as I walked there I was thinking about the search for meaning in life.. which led me to thinking about a book I'd read called "man's search for meaning" by Victor Frankl. After entering the future shop where I'd planned to by the C.D. I was frazzled by the displays of D.V.Ds Ink jet printers and Michael Franks name turned into Victor Franks... which of course I couldn't find anywhere. I asked the 12year old cashier if she had any music by (the name had morphed once more) into Victor Frankl.
She said she didn't think so, and fortunately I don't think she knew who Victor Frankl was, just assumed he was some obscure musician. So I left. When I got home of course I thought "oh I'm such a dolt it was Michael Franks, not Victor Frankl. So the lesson I have learned is WRITE THINGS DOWN, its a hard lesson because I've never had to do that before. But next time I venture out into Mega Store Mecca I will probably have better luck.

Sorry but the only question I have is "what does the A stand for in Kid A?" Catch my drift?

You mean you weren't questioning your sexuality by saying you're just an average guy? Hmm how else could that be taken?
I know when I say I'm average people say I must be questioning my own...hmmmmm..

So you're saying its better to be an "A" than a homosexual?

You seemed to have a lot of issues w/ someone calling you sweetie, you said it made you feel cute...

I scored a 40% on the test, which means I'm 40% gay, and acording to the oh so scientifically acurate and serious test this means i'm quite normal, not being TOO straight or TOO gay...

Le réalité et toi, vous ne vous entendez pas, n'est-ce pas?

Or does it seem that this thread is unlikely to end up a supportive one?

Perhaps I'm missing some guy bonding going on. If so, I'm just confused.

But if I'm not, could we let this thread die? Please???
