I was going to menion this before, but I thought it would sound to strange, but after reading your response to WendyB. I feel compelled to tell you that you are weirding me out.
When I joined I tried to use ShelliR as my name because its my name and middle initial. And Shelli with an i is an oddity, or at least everyone always comments on it.
Then I read a post of yours in which you had written about fearing turning 34 and where were you headed career wise,
And I honestly thought, did I join before and forget? I mean after you've had a "breakdown" you're not quite sure of anything anymore (well I'm not)
We're also the same age.
Then I saw another letter and realized No that couldn't possibly be me.
Oh now I sound really nutty don't I?However I went to respond to WendyB but saw that you had written exactly what I wanted to say.
So far as I know my "only" illness mentally is severe depression.
But now I'm really starting to wonder.....
really I'm kidding, but it does catch me off guard.Could you please reassure me that you don't live in Canada, or at least on the Westcoast?
Please
Pretty please.:)

Hi Gabby,
You can be sure that I'm not you; and vice-versa. You're right: the spelling "shelli" is not typical and actually isn't even how I spell my name. R is to represent my last name.
I don't know how the age thing got mixed up. I'm in my late 40s, and live on the east coast, D.C. I think you got mixed up on the age and career thing in a post between myself and Roo. Roo was the one turning 34 or somewhere around there and was confused about what she wanted to do about career. I just answered the post. (I am in my late forties).
The Shelli R thing *is* a coincidence, so I would have been confused also. In fact, a couple of weeks ago, someone submitted a post on PB with just Shelli, and I was not happy, thinking everyone else was going to think it was me. I wonder if that was you?
Anyway, don't worry. Your identity is yours alone, and intact.
Shelli

that with all my problems at least slipping into a different character isn't one of them.
Thank-you for answering. And doing it so gently.
I wasn't really worried, but could easily have been.
Yes I read your post to ROO when I was new, and I guess I didn't know how the Subject line worked.
I didn't mean to be nosyAlso It probably was me who wrote "Shelli"
I'm sorry, I've caught myself just about doing it several times, just habit. But I'm sure I've let it slip before unintentionally.I think I should chang my 'board' name to something that I recognize more instinctively.
Gabrielle is my 3rd middle name, and never been used for anything besides my Baptismal certificate. I think Gabbi is cute but it doesn't suit me a bit, well in one respect yes,but in that case typey would be more apt.

Gabbi, I love the way your mind works. :)
I hope you try to make it to Open chat sometime.

>hey Gabby,
You weren't being nosy at all. The posts are on the board so that *everyone* can read them. (If not, I'd have e-mailed a personal message).
I'd like to keep Shelli (or Shelli R) just because it's been me for so long. Is there something else besides Gabby which feels right for you? I know, you do want to pick something that does feel like you. That's why I picked something so close to my real name (but not exactly my name, because I was a bit paranoid). Is Shelli your birthname, or a nick name?
Personally I like when people use names which could be real names. Names made of initials, or types of animals, etc., make it harder for me to remember who it is. But that's a personal thing, probably has to do with my decline of memory as I get up in age.
Write again, if you are still feeling a problem and we can work on it again.
Thanks,
Shelli

I wish I could get worked up over something small for a change! Thanks for your consideration, but no my only worry was for you. Thinking that I might sign a letter Shelli again (at the bottom of a post) accidentally, and have someone think it came from you.
Especially if you thought it was awful and wanted to put in huge letters I DIDN'T WRITE THAT DRIVEL!!
But out of politeness couldn't. I'll just try not to get into the habit of putting anything on the bottom. Now, if I could just stop double posting....
Thanks again for your concern
