Oh me too. And if I had the gift of prose (and lacked the fear of a please be more inhibited) I would describe the experience. :)

Na, Just a very lame joke... You know the "Grease", song. Look at me I'm sandra dee lousy with virginity I dont drink, don't swear don't rat my hair....
Of course you could be 18 and not know all the songs from Grease off by heart. Which is nothing to be proud of... it just sort of happened....

Someone thought I might be 18. It was probably when I was 14. :) I'm 30. And I used to LOVE Grease. I used to have the double record (in fact I shouldn't say HAD, I still have it, just saw it when we moved!!) I would put a scarf in my hair and dance around in my room and sing it. As you said, nothing to be proud of, just happened. I had John Travolta posters and Ricky Shroder posters plastering my walls. (Also Chachi) Hey... what can I say, I was a boy-crazy, banana lovin' kid. :)

Imagery is a personal thing so if you associate mangoes with sex then mangos are sexy. I grew up eating the things, I picked them off the trees in our yard on a daily basis. I did not think them perfumy or sexy, they were sweet and savory and I would gobble them with selfish fervour but no sex imagery was involved.

Thunk~! Well I guess I'll always find em sexy.
But what you said reminds me of a great reality check that happened in College a couple of years ago, when the "back to the earth spirituality for white folks" was at its peak

A Young native man was in my class and mentioned how he'd been brought up with herbal remedies and drumming. Our instructor ooh'd and ahh'd about how fortunate he was. He said "oh ya right, all the other kids got to watch videos and eat taco chips, and my Dads goin' here have a bite of this tree!" Its all perspective

Mango Love

Ok I have to add one more bit about mangoes.......

My husband ordered a Hawaiian music tape which arrived today (he is very into Hawaiiana). He was interested in a particular song and played it for me. It goes like this (I swear I didn't make this up):

My heart does the tango
With every little move you make
I love you like a MANGO
Wish we could make it every day

I want you to
Drop baby drop baby drop
Gotta drop all your love on me
Drop baby drop baby drop
Drop 'cause I'm hungry

When I heard it I had to literally LOL.

BTW, the song is Drop Baby Drop by Mana'o Company

(and "drop" refers to the fruit dropping from the tree, in case that was confusing)

>Buy them only when there is little or no green; they should be yellow and red, and generally, the more red the better.

I should have read your instructions a little more carefully before shopping. The impulse came over me unexpectedly at the local supermarket the other day. My mango is almost half green although the other half is a lovely yellow tinged red. I placed it in a paper bag and, surreptitiously, when there is no one around to see, I peeked inside. It may be a little softer but the color is unchanged. What do I do now? Can this relationship be saved? Any advice welcome.

Hi Jane,

All is not lost! Your mango is just a virgin, so be easy on it. It will not change color, even when blushing from inexperience. When you have made it wait until its aroma makes it want to wait no more, you can sample its sweet nectar. Remember, relationships such as these cannot be rushed and foreplay is important. Bathe it, caress it, fondle it. Undress it slowly. Nibble gently at first, then when its juices begin flowing, soiling your face, use your tongue. Only during the heat and fervor of your coupling should you take large bites from its flesh.

After washing with a warm cloth, you will probably want a darkened room in which to relax with the afterglow.

As with all relationships, this one might not be ideal, and you might have to sample others to truly experience the ectasy such encounters can bring.

Enjoy!

Ted

so you noticed too!

I have heard you can put unripe fruit in a paper bag with a banana to encourage ripening, something in the skin...

The mangoes I have had were ripe when the skin gave to slight pressure.

mouse in the fruit aisle
