However, I am sometimes glad to be cyclothymic rather than unipolar depressive. At least you can look forward to a change in the seasons. Today is melancholy autumn, while just days (day?) ago I was enjoying halcyon summer. And all I can be sure of is that my mood will change.
Would you like to tell us more about what's going on with you?

I'm pretty much where you are, too, Homewood. Right now I'm feeling like it is better to be hopeless than to risk another crash from hopefulness to reality. I'm not too sure how many more crashes I can handle.
I do think the unremitting nature of unipolar depression (dysthymia in my case) is very wearing. Similar to, but not as bad as, chronic pain. It wears away all the pleasures, for me, except the smallest ones. It doesn't leave too much energy for other pursuits.
Going on is just a decision, and the alternatives at the moment don't appeal.
