Barbie is ugly. Why do you say that? What is your point. Do you feel so self concious that you need to direct your angst-laden energies against a doll made by the fine people at the Mattel corporation. I mean, perhaps the doll that bears the moniker "Barbie" unrealisticly portrays women to the point that young girls are given a distorted view of just what it is that constitutes feminine normalacy. The same could also be said for magazines like Elle Girl, or Cosmo Girl, as well as whatever Vogue's entry is in the indoctrination genre of Shopping-Preening-Manhunting magazine cum guidebook craze that is currently all the rage.But what does that matter? We all dressed in black when we were in school and thought we were so different. We were just a smaller microcosm of conformity but we chose not to recognise that. No matter how hard you try you can never be a rebel. To rebel is to reject and yet one of the most natural tendencies for human beings is to seek acceptance. That is why these little tide pools of crazed lonely teenagers form: to disassociate from the feelings of rejection from the wider more popularist groups of so-called jocks, cheerleaders, normal somewhat problem-free young adults just lazy day drifting their way through school without a schizm in the world.
So you young troubled minds may think that school is some fascist enterprise whose goal is to crush the spirits of those who dare challenge the system, but in fact it is actually the most democratic insitution of young learning possible, with puppet regimes that support the overwhelmingly large majority of normal every day non-journal-keeping party chug-meister students.
But don't the minorities deserve protection? Only if their views are not destructive to the body politik as a whole. Thats where I come in. As a member of NKVD I am responsible for the protection of the state of democracy that exists in this fragile environment that is ripe with political dissention. We, the NKVD, would round up those malcontents, maladroits, and send them to re-education classes meant to better allow them to learn and adapt the skills necissary to fit into a homogenous society of their social betters.
But as we learned, we could only control them to a certain degree. At one point or another they would leave school and hence, our jurisdiction, they would go on to adapt all manner of misdirected ideas concerning the necesity of drugs, legal or otherwise to quench their undying need for sanity, intamacy, peace of mind, anything to stop the pain each morning of having to get up and tie your shoes, and if there is anything that I would like to do more than all else, it is to create something, any one thing of lasting and meaningfull beauty, of knowing in my heart that I made someone that I cared for laugh for a few moments, even though I'll never hear them laugh again, and if I could, I'd give anything in the world to have them back, but in the end, barbie is ugly, a hideous queen of the Harpies, and the fates twist their yarn so that we loose what we cherish most, yet all around me there are supportive voices, and I will try each day to get up and go through another 9 hours of living, I WILL take benzodiazpines per my own recourse, I will brood or be depressed, I will act irationally and without meter or judgement, I will thank those that take the time to talk to me or say a kind word... In the end my memory will be these words, and they will last as long as they are remembered. Alpha and Omega, First and last and always.
