Museum of Mentruation

Posted by beardedlady on May 11, 2002, at 4:38:01

Next time your in Baltimore, don't forget to visit The Museum of Menstruation: http://www.roadsideamerica.com/attract/MDNEWmum.html, the American Dime Museum: http://www.dimemuseum.com/ (website not so interesting except for the one photo of the owners, one of whom is a great poet), and Atomic Books: http://www.atomicbooks.com/shocked.html for a great publication on freaks and geeks (in the literal sense of the word--you know, ala Ozzy?).

Ain't we got fun?

Just had to go and take a look for myself, that museum of menstruation is pretty creepy, especially since it's in his basement! LOL!

Also:

http://www.mum.org/

Is this the same guy? I think so, maybe his 2nd site... I find it kind of weird that a MAN owns & operates this tribute to the most-female-of-bodily-functions... Hmmm.

yours in lunar-ity,
Wendy

ps: beardy, my goodness, remember the YOUR vs the YOU'RE lecture you gave us a while back? Next time you're in Baltimore...

(Couldn't help myself!)
(I know, I'm being editorially bitchy...)

Beird-eye:

I AM an editorial bitch! My eye seeks out grammatical mistakes like a heat-seeking missile... It's a problem. Sending me text to read for corrections is not for the faint-of-heart. I am one of those people whose boss used to give memos and important letters, etc., so that I could fix her IT'S vs ITS problems, and other horrors. And then I'd just do re-writes for her as well, she was illiterate, made $30K more than I did, too. Makes me nuts when I see they're and their and there mixed up, it really does. And the weird thing about it is, when I teach elementary school, 3rd grade is about when they can grasp it, I say: "Don't worry if you can't get it... 90% of the adults you know don't get it either." This make them feel better, maybe? I don't know. It's not like it's so hard. There I go again...

Anyway, did you figure me out? Am I the figure from your past who loved Elton John?? Any more leads on that?

A wave in your direction,

Wendy

Wendy:

No one can talk to me, either. I do college English, so I'm a worse editorial bitch. (I'm also an editor, too, which makes me a paid editorial bitch). And I'm always on duty. The other night, the news anchor said she was "awesomed" by the Orioles; I nearly died. My mom and I exchange the daily linguistic faux pas, as we are two of a kind.

Toodle-oo!

beardy : )>

P.S. Watch those comma splices, hon!
