Parole Eligibility....

Posted by colin wallace on April 23, 2002, at 3:13:45

This morning, I was provided with full-rations (two bowls of rice, two cockroaches and a nimble little fieldmouse..).
A jangling of keys, shuffling feet,a heavy grating sound and the cell door swung open;I was unshackled and hauled to my feet, blinking and gasping as fresh air replaced stagnant...
Roughly pushed along a dark corridor, I stumbled past a windowless,' special-category' cell, and shuddered at the awful, muted grunts and plaintive cries therein.Chalked on the door in gothic scrawl, the names 'Old School and 3 Beers' identify the luckless inhabitants...
A splintered bamboo cane stands outside the door, and a half-crazed laugh escapes the confines.
Then, in an instant, I am sprawled on dewy grass, blinking at the harshness of sunlight....
Freedom!!!

You know, the least you could have done was send me a file hidden in a cake- it's traditional you know.
I had to make do with a dog-eared copy of playboy, sent by Ron Hill...

Ron, Colin: Congrats on your SAMe coup!
Posted by beardedlady on April 17, 2002, at 12:05:11

I am so very impressed! Today, I was in Safeway and found Nature Made SAMe! Not only is it in the regular supermarket, but it's in a display in the produce section! I was buying my vidalias, and there it was! Naturally, I thought of you. Congratulations on the new account.

My best to you both. And Colin, you are certainly missed around here. I hope your block is over soon.

P.S. For those others peeping in who may be out of the loop, LOL.

Colin,

I'm sure you had already read Beardy's Safeway SAM-e promo. Beardy writes professional. In particular, she has a small business that provides written text for her clients' web-sites. I'm wondering if we should try to hire Mrs. Beardy to write a web-site for our SAM-e business.

In a related matter, IsoM has expressed interest in being the our SAM-e poster girl for this calendar year (2002). The problem is that, although both of these fine women have wholeheartedly endorsed our SAM-e venture, neither of them actually use the product. Would it be unethical to have a SAM-e poster girl who doesn't really take SAM-e?

I think Iso was volunteering to be the person in dire need of SAMe. She'll be the poster child for need. In fact, our campaign could begin with:

This is Iso. She's pathetic and ill. She is lethargic. Old ladies can beat her around the track. If only she had SAMe. But alas, Iso is from Canada, where they don't sell SAMe. Won't you help us help her? Vote SAMe in Canada. Write your local Canadian government official (whatever that would be called).
Yours,
Ron & Colin
Sons of SAMe

Well, firstly Ron, I'm glad at least that you've been dissuaded from using yourself and your 1920's strongman leotard for our poster campaign. That's a start.
I'm somewhat torn between Beardy and isoM, so perhaps a feasible solution would be to employ both of them- we could get them to mud- wrestle each other, in a 'guess who's using sam-e' type theme. The loser (beardy) is summarily throttled into the mud, and at this certain death moment, a bystander flips a 200mg sam-e pill into the ring. This is grabbed and taken, spinach- like, by the desperate Beard, who is promtly re-invigorated and in turn, throttles isoM into submission....pass me that director's chair.
And as for ethics Ron, we can sacrifice them here in the name of a greater good!

Hey, I'm the ad exec here. I'll make the plans. You just peddle your little product and count the profits.

By the way, in all seriousness, what do you do for a living, Colin?
