sounds like you really feel like shit, though I hope you aren't really thinking about killing yourself.

i wish trouble were here so that she could tell you something really smart, but i am just going to say this.

don't.

find someone to talk to. even if it's one of those stupid hotlines. (i've called one, and while it's not therapy, i lived, so it works).

you've found some friends here. stick around and let them help you out.

Lili,

I don't know you. But you have so many people on your side here. Your hurt is so much now that you cannot see - it will go away. Who knows if it will be soon, or if it will be sometime in the future. But the thing to remember is: you will not always feel this way. You have been given, somehow, a community of people who care about you, a bunch of Babblers. Please remember that we are here, you can write, write to the Board as much as you want, but please stay around. OK?

Please take care of yourself,
Wendy

Die because of a posponement?
What happened with film school?

lili:

again, i apologize b/c i haven't been following your threads enough.

is this high school or college? would advice from some of us who have been down the road a little (i'm 31, so not too far from it) help?

or do you need support more than anything? come to chat if you can. i'm around mostly around 1:00 pm eastern standard time. otherwise, it seems like folks are off and on all day...

when i have been at my "lowest", which is certainly an incorrect way to describe it, my husband has tried to remind of the "folks" i love most - my dogs. there i said it. they are more important to me than most people. do you have any pets? do you connect with animals at all?

but even that doesn't help when the desire to commit suicide really kicks in.

do you have a good dr.? if my parents had tried to treat me when i was younger, i would be in worse condition now, i have finally realized, despite their good intentions. i needed a straightforward psychiatrist who could prescribe me the correct meds in order to, literally, stay alive. my parents would have had me at a fundamentalist christian clinic where thet told me to pray more.

keep posting your anguish here if you can -- it helps you in the long run, And others.

LiLi,
I pray that you might have:
peace from your fears, doubts, and pain,
hope for the days ahead,
courage to make new beginnings,
and love to strengthen your resolve to live.

Please refer to our previous discussions about suicide and support. You have so many friends here who only want the best for you. Take care of yourself.

You can't graduate??!! » LiLi80

Lili, what gives? What reason could they possibly give, telling you you can't graduate? When we pay our tuition & take the courses & exams, we're paying for the right to "buy" this diploma. If you've paid, done the work, & passed the exams, they can't withhold your right to graduate, can they? This is insane & fraudulent!! There must be laws regarding this?

I've felt the same way at various low points in my academic career, however, though it seems like it, it's not impossible - you can still transfer elsewhere and finish your degree or say "fuck them" and stay out and finish it. Just don't end your life because of those assholes - you don't want them at your funeral saying "we knew she was too acrewed up to make it -that's why we didn't let her graduate" - instead you want them at your graduation with you saying "See, I told you I could do it!!!!"

And if there's any chance you were denied a diploma solely because of your illness or you weren't given assistance that would've allowed you to graduate despite your illness like extensions, talk to a lawyer - there are laws that prevent schools, jobs, etc from discriminating.

And remember, if you wait a while, you have nothing to lose - if nothing helps, you can always still kill yourself later.

ah man, that last line? I don't know, maybe you and Lili80 are close like that but . . . if i'm ever feeling like ending things, please don't suggest that it's an option i can put on layaway.

(i know you were trying to be helpful, probably just came across wrong to me, hoping it didn't come across wrong to Lili80).

That's interesting - that thought was the only thing that kept me going when I was at the point of sitting on windowsills and standing on platform edges. I went to my current pdoc and started meds figuring nothing would help, and that I could still kill myself later.
