Happy Passover, Lou!

Posted by beardedlady on March 25, 2002, at 13:35:01

This is my favorite holiday. It reminds me of my grandparents, who always held the seder. My grandfather died last year, and my grandmother died just after my daughter was born. Though I am sad they are not still with me physically, I am happy with my memories of them.

Countdown to haroset! (My very favorite food.)

Friends;
I could give a Passover Seder on line here if enough people would want me to. You would only need some matzo and wine for this Seder. It would have to be Friday night, for I am going to be at a Seder on Thursday. You will learn the significance of the bread and wine and the significance of the angel of death that will Passover you.

Friends;
You will also learn why I have been talking for the last 3 months about slavery. For my ancestors were slaves and they were delivered by God out of slavery. The passover is the telling of that Exodus from slavery. When you hear about the Passover you will see why I have been talking about freedom. You will see why I have been talking about shakles and chains and suffering and bondage. You will see why I jave been talking about conquering and conquerers and white horses and golden crowns. You will see why I have been talking about courage and liberty from slavery and having freedom. It will all come together and you will see why I have been talking about the City of Peace which is Jaru Sholom. At the end of each Seder, the participants say, "next year in Jaru Sholom which is the Promised Land. Friends, There is a Promised Land. I have been there.Ther is Peace There is Joy. There is FREEDOM.
Lou
