I have been having this horrible reaction lately. I feel anxious and then my throat closes up and I can't keep from swallowing. My throat feels swollen all the time and gaggy. i have a vomit-phobia so it isn't a real comfy feeling. `
Anyone have any ideas on how to relax the esophagus or swallowing mechanism?
I hope this isn't too weird...........And PS, yes I've had my thyroid checked. It's fine.

It is common with anxiety. I posted on the other board about meds for the stomach problems. Baclofen is a good muscle relaxant and it can have a side-effect of being sedating so this might be a benefit.
If your doctor isn't helping you, I know the type male greying hair, go to a after hours walk in clinic. Tell them your anxiety is causing these problems which are aggravating your anxiety, which causes these problems. Once you get the physical symptoms controlled it will be easier to work on the anxiety.
