Hey dj, that's a cool thing. I think it's great to put together something like that. How did you hear about it?

Hi Tina,

I had read a review of the book in the Globe and Mail and then today came across an on-line broadcast at CTV, under medical, where the authors were interviewed and mentioned it. Some interesting links there.

BTW, I was also at ASH and checked out the first on-line photo you uploaded. Very nice!! Unfortunately for some reason my system couldn't read the other... strange...

Cheers!

do you have to be Canadian?

I work so close to their office I could walk there on my lunch and tell them my story :+).

Actually it should make for an interesting book, I sure didn't get better by going to the doctors (although they were a great resource).

Hi Tina, if you're the same Tina frokm the Ottawa area.

Janice

You'd have to ask them...

Having scanned their book, (much of which is built upon the Atkinson Fdn. funded news series linked to the website url at the top of this thread)they emphasize that getting well had to do with much wider support than the medical community and meds. could offer and much to do with supportive family and friends.

Janice, I'd love to hear more about your story both here and in their next book. I encourage you to follow up with them!!

Sante!

Hi Noa,

Funny I was just scanning down the page looking to see if you had been visiting PB. I noticed not as much, and I'm guessing that's good news because you were feeling better when I was here last. I hope so anyway.

I'm coming to NY sometime soon, as a tourist. I love NY!

Take care, Janice

ps I'm doing very well. Exercising like a fiend, and loving it! It really does help improve my mood.

peace

I am so it doesn't matter for me. I was just asking for other people who weren't Canadian, but maybe wanted to tell their story.

Sometimes (in a silly way) I think my story is too crazy to believe. You know how I finally came out of denial about my 'emotional problems'. One of my sisters used to visit psychics, and very often she'd come home with tapes of them saying I needed help. Then finally one of them was so specific and told her I had inherited my mother's nervous system and went into so much detail about my health, my life etc, I went to see her...and this journey began.

up till then I was just wild and tempermental.

I hope your head is behaving you dj and the ground stays under your feet,

Janice

Me too!

Yes, I have been doing better, and also very busy, so not as much time to spend here at Babble.

Enjoy NY!
