Does anyone even realize Ralph Nadar is a candidate? While it's next to impossible for him to be elected, he would be a great president. Imagine, a president with integrity. He's my hero!

In the '60s and '70s I thought he was terrific. But now I live 30 minutes away from him (he's in Winsted, CT) and know his ego gets in the way and he sometimes causes more harm than good. Actually, JL can match RN in the integrity department. And I pretty much think TEAM GORE will TRY to do the things I would like to see done.
I've always been interested in politics...from my first election when I thought I would get to reelect JFK...even before that. When I was ten years old, I wanted Adlai to win because I thought he was the smartest, and he had holes in his shoes. Go figure.
I really do think the result of the election will make a big difference in our future.

IMHO:Team Gore is the best thing that can happen! Met Ralph Nader in the early '70s and he had an ego then too.

Ralph Nader is going to succeed at one thing in this election, he is going to help the Republicans get elected. It is really unfortunate that he is being so short sighted and egotistic. His candidacy will simply split the liberal voters, taking away enough Democrats to give Bush the lead in the election. I really wish that he would do what is best for the country and bow out of the election so that Gore and Leiberman will have a fighting chance to win.
Or am I totally off base with this analysis?

I think you're right on, and I only hope that someone will make him see reason in time. I heard a commentator on CNN suggest that Team Gore offer Nader some kind of national position; maybe that would work. RN does have some good ideas but his unwillingness to be a mensch could create havoc wherever he goes.
Let's hope for the best. And WE know what that is.

I agreee, because Gore's wife Tipper has publically stated that at one time she needed to take an anti-deppressant. She has said that mental health will be her number one priority.

Do you really feel that putting the Democratic ticket in the White House is actually going to help? Do you really think any politicians are going to make a difference? Gore has had 8 years to persuade his mentor to do investigate the state of mental health, and I ask you, are things that much different? I for one think not. It's amazing to me that all of you think electing democrats will "help the cause". They have had it for long enough. Besides that, someone said Nader would help the Republicans cause; just like Ross Perot helped Clinton get in office and we had 8 years of his antics. Guys, face it, all either party is looking for is VOTES right now. As soon as the thing is over, it will be politics as usual in Washington. Get real....
