Lamotrigine and lithium carbonate

Posted by Berk on May 13, 2013, at 9:11:25

Hi to everybody Smile

My english is not perfect(6.5 points / 10.0 points) because my native language is Turkish. But i can explain myself so so. Smile

This is my first post.

First of all, greetings to everybody, i hope everyone here help to each other and we will be healty ultimately. All of us deserves to be better...

My recent treatment is mentioned below. My question is :

Higher lamictal dosage (above 300 mg) means better for depression. Is it true or false?

What is the mechanism of action of lamotrigine on our brain in terms of depression?

2nd question :

My old treatment is Clomipramine 300 mg ( Anafranil) with Lithium carbonate (Lithobid or Eskalith in your countries at US or Europe) 900 mg.Lithium was very good to me.I was perfect. But due to side effects, i left this treatment( weight gain,tremor,edema..).Two years later after this old treatment, i use Zoloft 200 mg with lithium carbonate 900 mg, but this treatment didnt work for me.Then, i tried paxil 60 mg with lithium carbonate 900 mg didnt work for me also.

Is there possibility of being pop-out of lithium carbonate? Why doesnt lithium work for me anymore? What is the reason for that in terms of scientific viewpoint?

I can not answer these two questions. My knowledge is not enough for that.

To do my new treatment better, does lithium carbonate work for me now?

How can i do better my recent treatment?

Also my recent knowledge, if you suffer from unipolar depression, add naltrexone to your treatment. This will be perfect for you.At my country, naltrexone is not available...

I suffer from mild depression, what can i do?

I need your valuable experiences...

Help me please...

Berk...
