If it helps, remember that people are certainly flawed, and often unkind. Whatever it is, take care, and don't let it rent too much space in your head.

I don't go elsewhere other than facebook. I'm guessing you don't want to give out the name. That's okay. Sorry you have a bad experience. Phillipa

I'm sorry. :(
There's something to be said for Dr. Bob's civility rules.
There are unkind people in the world. And sometimes ignorance and pride can lead to inadvertent unkindness even among the well intentioned.
That doesn't make it any easier, I know. I'm sorry you're hurting.

I had a bad experience a few months ago at another support site. A guy said he'd never gotten an official diagnosis. He once started to describe his symptoms to a doctor, but the doctor was so cold that he decided against saying any more. This guy described his symptoms on the other forum, and wondered if it might be OCD. I thought it sounded more like bipolar, so I said so. Two of the moderators jumped all over me, writing, "How dare you offer a diagnosis! Only a doctor is qualified to diagnose a patient. You have no right, etc." The guy wrote me that he appreciated my post. Still, I haven't posted at that other site since then. I appreciate the air of civility at Psycho-Babble. Dr. Bob has a lot to do with it.
This is the end of the thread.
