What does it mean when someone has real trouble..

Posted by sleepygirl2 on June 2, 2012, at 18:56:38

Accepting that they don't know something, or that they're not right about something.
And they insist that they're right, even though they are wwwaaayyyy off.
What is that??

Grandiosity, egotism, self-righteousness. There are a lot of terms for it. I used to be like that a lot (except with my husband and daughter, with whom I could be kind of a doormat). AA and therapy taught me better.

Normal?

Annoying?

Seriously I think most people do this at least some of the time about some things.

It can happen with anxiety (in which case the subject in question is a source of anxiety).

We live in a society where there is a constant battle over who is right.

It's such an uninteresting fight.

So it relates to the sense of self.

It's so silly because no one knows anything much.
