I've made a lot of progress in therapy

Posted by Deneb on October 17, 2009, at 20:10:42

I've made a lot of progress in therapy and I think I have grown as a person. Recently I started welcoming newbies here on Babble and I am finding it gives me a real sense of joy to be doing someone good for people and the community.

I'm branching out and replying more to other threads now. Instead of just mechanically replying just for the sake of replying, I am actually thinking of the other person and not about myself.

Pdoc noticed that too.

I'm happy I am able to look beyond myself now. This is a big reason why I would never kill myself now. I care about the people who love me.

I'm so happy that you can feel and see the progress you have made in therapy. I remember reading a few weeks ago that she wanted to change the number of times you met ... has that been resolved? What did you decide?

Sometimes when I experience a break in therapy (due to a vacation) I realize how different I feel in my day to day life ... as long as the vacation isn't too long (because then I fall completely apart)

Yes, it's been resolved. I saw her weekly for another 3 weeks first, but I decided that it would be OK to see her every two weeks. I'm OK with it now. She said I've made a lot of progress and she was very pleased.

So far I haven't have major problems with my pdoc's long vacations. The last one was about 6 weeks. So, I think I am ready to see her less often. I do feel anxious about not seeing her for so long sometimes though, and sometimes I don't do as well mood wise when she is away.
