darn it. It was really bad this morning schools are closed, even the malls opened late, so road safety wise it was better, but my evil brother really got to me again and I was hoping to get up the courage to talk about it. Note, hoping to talk about it, knowing me I wouldn't have brought it up so I guess the snow day didn't matter.
I see her on the 26th which is good as I will be spending Christmas at my parents and so evil monster brother will be unavoidable. Just being in that house I feel like that bullied kid again- that he has all the power.
T asked it I was okay with not seeing her, and said to call her if I needed her. It's Thursday that I would need her, so I can hang on until Friday.
I hate snow. I really hate 10 plus inches of snow on therapy day.

There should be a law of nature. No bad weather on therapy day.
Sigh. Holidays. Well I only invited my mother and her brother, since I'm sure my brother will be expected to be with his girlfriend's family. But sometimes I wonder if I should even go through with that. I don't suppose there's any way you and your husband could go away for the holiday instead? (Even if *away* is hiding in your home, with the blinds drawn, using flashlights so no one will see that there are lights on.)
A nice fantasy anyway.
My therapist was planning to take the 26th off. Then he thought he could see me and wrote down an appointment. Now he thinks he won't be seeing people that Friday anyway. :) I'm glad yours will be there on that very day that you'll need her.
I suppose you guys are so used to snow that you don't take the day off and frolic? I love to frolic.

Would your T ever consider a phone session? My T and I had a couple last summer when he hurt his back. It's not as good as face-to-face but you get used to it, and we still felt it was better than not meeting for a couple of weeks. Hope he takes it easy shoveling snow, maybe I'll sneak by and do his driveway for him ;)

I feel your pain :) I'm traveling for the holidays and won't see mine for ten days.
Next time, tell her you need a phone session! Mine offers them when we're going to be apart and she's available.

Argh! That's rough. The snow hit just after my T session yesterday, I was worried we'd have to cancel. I'm glad you will get to see your T on the 26th though. But if you need to call her before then you should take her up on her offer. But yes, boo to the snow on therapy days.

Hi Dinah,
Definitely no frolicking in the snow for me, we only take the day off if businesses are closed, otherwise it's drive through it as usual. I think a warm sunny day in winter would be worthy of frolicking. By warm I mean in the 40s.
I should have told my mother we were going to my father-in-laws, though she would question it as we have never done that. I just plan to get there when dinner is supposed to start and then leave after the gift giving. If my sister wants to hang with me on Friday, after I see my T, of course; no snowstorm or anything else is keeping me from seeing her on Friday.

Hi Lucie Lu,
I've never done phone sessions, but I think she'd be okay with it. Hopefully weather or anything else won't get in the way of next week.
I'm picturing your T looking out the window and saying out loud is that Lucie shoveling my driveway?

Hi Raisinb,
I've never done phone sessions with her, but I think she'd go for it. The only time I've talked at length on the phone was when I was in a crisis and she was very good about that.
Hope your traveling goes well.

Hi Recently,
Big boo for snow on therapy days. This is the second time it's happened (okay in six years, but still, not fair!)
I will call her if I need her, though I'd feel bad calling on Christmas Day from my parents house, then again it would be a crisis situation and she's Jewish so Christmas isn't a biggie for her.
No more snow!

Poet,
I think the best excuse to get out of something is diarrhea. No one questions it, doesn't want to be around it and certainly won't volunteer to help you with it. So that would be one tried and true way to get out of going to the evil brother's company.
And again, tell your sister, sorry sis I've got diarrhea. Guaranteed she will not want to be around you. diarrhea usually means a virus so most want no part of your company.
just a thought.
Sorry the snow cancelled T.

Hi RSK,
You are absolutely right, if I said I had diarreah they wouldn't want to come any where near me esepcially when they only have one bathroom. Very tempting. Very good idea.
