Did any of you send your T a holiday/christmas/chanukkah card?
I sent my T a card. I didn't want to send her a traditional holiday card. But I did want to send her some sort of card. So last night I got a thank you card and simply wrote "Thank you and happy holidays." I signed it, "Much Love, my name." (I'm a tiny bit anal so I actually practiced writing it all out like ten times). I'm glad to give her a card.
I've haven't told her the L word before, so this is a big step. Actually, it's a HUGE risk. I've explicitely told her that I care about her, both in email and in person. I'm kind of hoping she doesn't bring it up. Lol... maybe I'll bring it up next time I see her, but I probably won't.

I think your therapist will appreciate your thoughtful card. I'm certain she will acknowledge the card ... it's part of the therapy experience.
When I send my therapist a card (and yes, I have sent her holiday cards and random no specific reason type cards) she always thanks me for the kind gesture.

I gave my T a card in person. It was pretty simple - just 'happy holidays and thanks'. As I was leaving I said "I hope you don't read too much into this." I'm so paranoid. I think she appreciated the gesture, but who knows?

I've sent mine love letters, so a holiday card would be no big thing

I hope you do bring it up when you see her next :)
I brought a card in to my therapist - just the standard picture card that I'm sending to everyone this year. I also brought a small, handmade gift. She accepted it gracefully at the beginning of the session (for which I was grateful), and again expressed her appreciation for the time that I put into it at the end of the session. It felt nice :)
This is the end of the thread.
