Hi everyone. I'm new to the board, been lurking a few days, finally jumping in the water myself. I actually found this site because I had a real urge to Google my (relatively) new therapist and was thinking to myself - "I wonder if this is normal?" It's not the sort of question you can ask people not in therapy... Thanks to a Google search on that topic - I found this board, where I saw several threads that led me to believe I am not alone in my desire to Google.
I re-started therapy about 2 months ago, after a 6 year break. Getting re-acclimated to being in therapy has been somewhat challenging for me, but I do truly like my new therapist and I hope we will be able to work well together (I still haven't decided if I want to divulge my Googling yet, ha). Anyway - just wanted to say hi to the board. I'm sure I'll be back here pretty often - it seems like a good place.

I'm thankful you found Babble too. :)
As you can see, it's a pretty common impulse and more and more googling someone is seen as pretty normal. Unfortunately, I suppose there are still a few therapists who haven't caught up that reality. An increasingly small number as time goes on.

Welcome to Babble! I actually think you would be abnormal if you DIDN'T google your T. :-)
Beside it is a safe thing to do to protect yourself, you should check to make sure they are licensed and if there are any actions made against their license.

Thanks for the kind welcomes! And good point, SoSlided. I finally looked up my T at the state licensure site today. Probably should have done that before my 1st session, but better late than never.

Welcome!
I found PsychoBabble via Google, but was Googling "Celexa" some years ago when I was VERY reluctantly starting on my first ever psych med.
