Ok. Well, I'm getting braver here on Babble.
I thought I'd start a thread in honor of Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. I get to spend it amongst my chosen family, sharing food and wine and love. Celebrating them, celebrating life.
So, here's what I'm thankful for:
My T- she's helped me grow and learn and loved me
The courage to grow and learn
Acceptance... from T and from me for myself
A stronger sense of self
My friends, who are my family
The election!- don't mean to offend anyone, but I am so thankful and hopeful for change!
Newfound knowledge that it's ok to make mistakes!
Differentiation!
My family that loves me... even if they can't show itHow about you?

I'm thankful that
I have a warm house filled with my truest companions - my pets.
I have good friends who are a lot like me.
The price of gas has fallen.
I have the world's most comfortable bed and an IPOD
I paid off my car this year.
Someone invented shrinkwrap.
I live in a world with tigers in it.
No matter how crazy I think I am, my brother always manages to be crazier - god bless his heart.
Through all the turmoil and hurt, there is a lot of good in this life and that I am able to enjoy a lot it.Seldom

>Being alive
That's very positive of you, PJ.
I'll have to have a little think about that.
The closer you get to not being alive, the better it looks?
I am thankful (so it appears to me) that young people are in much better shape than they were 40 years ago.

I am constantly humbled by how much I have to be thankful for.
My son, of course. I grow to like him more and more every day. Although I never thought that was possible. He is a young man of principle and integrity, and I wonder that my husband and I could have been so fortunate.
My husband. He is a good man. I'm so fortunate to have found him and chosen him in high school.
My therapist. I know I pay for his services, but he also so often gives of the things I can't possibly pay for.
My dogs, past and present. They are a constant source of comfort, and a frequent source of bubbles of joy. With a special thanks that my one with problems has apparently stabilized - against all odds. When I forget to be thankful for everything else in my life, I can go to them, bury my face in their fur, or pour out my woes as they stare with such obvious concern into my face, and life seems bearable. I can't imagine life without a dog.
Comfortable living. Parents that sacrificed to give us a good education, a husband who is fiscally responsible as well as occupationally gifted.
To be born at this time. Not only at a time with air conditioning and refrigeration, transportation and communication, huge advances in health and vaccinations, although those certainly help.
My mother. She wasn't always the person she is now. When I was little, she listened to me, and respected me, and taught me why the rules were what they were instead of just telling me to do what she said. She threw herself fully into whatever I was interested in doing, and she supported me.
My father. He's gone now, of course. But I'm lucky to have grown up with a daddy who loved me and took care of me, and let me cut out the best pieces from the sirloin steaks, no matter how much he loved them too. I wish I could have had him forever. But I'm lucky to have had him as long as I did, and I'm lucky to have had the chance to work with him and make his life easier too.
Those are the biggest things. So many others.

Whoops. I forgot Babble and Babblers. I'm most certainly grateful for them. :)
And finding my current Sunday School class.
My friends.
My good fortune in Katrina.
Goodness, I forgot a heck of a lot and more than I could possibly write.
This is the end of the thread.
