I had a bad week and I had lots of stuff to talk about.
I went to my appointment only to find out that they said I had cancelled my appointment. I didn't cancel my appointment. Why would I?
Well, that didn't matter because she wasn't here this week anyways. They didn't call me to tell me she wasn't here because they said I cancelled my appointment.
:-(
I'm going to cry now.

How frustrating! And to have them push the responsibility onto you compounds an already disappointing feeling.
At least she wasn't there at all. Somehow, that would be harder for me to swallow ... if they thought I canceled my appointment, when I didn't and gave my time to someone else.
Of course you would be disappointed. We look forward to spending that time with our doctors/therapists/pdocs/etc. ... it's an emotional connection that isn't easily duplicated.
Hopefully you will see her next week. Dasiy has often encouraged me and others to journal those feelings between appointments. I found its helpful to pour them out onto paper so my mind isn't clutter with so much emotional baggage ... at least temporarily.

I'm a bit upset myself about it. I know you had a lot to talk to her about, and I was looking forward to hearing her take on it. How disappointing. And poorly done on her staff's part.
Amazing how long a week can seem, isn't it?
Do you have anything you can do to distract yourself?

I'm sorry deneb....like annierose, it's terrible that they pushed the responsibility onto you...that's terrible.

Thanks Annierose.
They said I canceled at the end of October. I'm sure I didn't. There is absolutely no reason for me to cancel so why would I?
Journalling is a good idea. I find babble helps.
I'm not upset anymore about the appointment, just disappointed.
I'm not feeling well because of other stuff right now. I'm just having a bad time.

I'm OK about the appointment now. Now there are other stuff that is making me feel bad.
I got my midterm back and it was bad. It wasn't that the test was a lot harder, it was only a little harder. I am avoiding studying and tutoring. Today I'm sleeping.
I am very discouraged.

I'm sorry. I know how discouraging it can be.
Why did you stop the tutoring? It seemed to really be helpful to you. You didn't let your sister influence your decision did you?

Hi Deneb,
I think your pdoc's office really messed up. Of course it happened during a week in which you had a lot to get off your chest. You deserve more support than this. I hope you will be able to "hold" your feelings without letting them overflow. It's hard to wait for our therapist/pdoc sometimes when things are tough, and the temptation (for me!) is to push them away. But they never really do go away. They just get covered with other crap, and I find them later when I'm not expecting it. My former T had a nice image that helps me sometimes. I wasn't sure how I would be able to transition to a new T when I moved, and what I could do to hold myself together.
She used her hands like she was wrapping a package, or folding a hankie, and put my "feelings" inside, and told me that when I was ready that I could "unwrap" them. I could hold on to them without having to deal with them at the moment-- but they weren't forgotten either.
hugs,
-Ll
