It feels so dark out right now and cold. I just want to go to sleep. ugh........
maybe I got left outside in the cold one day, but something is sad about the coldest days within fall, and the days toward the beginning of winteroh wait...lol, it's the holidays
they are on their way
that's part of it surely, but not all of it

Yep. I'm tired. And about a million times more depressed than usual, though admittedly there are additional situational reasons for that.
Fall is a complicated time for me, now that I think of it. These cold, dark days are depressing, sure, but there's something so familiar about them, too. They seem to touch something ancient inside me, reminding me of 'home' somehow. It's almost comforting. Bittersweet. I don't know.

Wow, I was just noticing this the past week-- I'm exhausted for no reason? maybe it's this persistent dental abscess I'm fighting? but I feel like utter hell whenever the alarm goes off.

I've been tired and depressed as well. More than usual I mean. And very moody. I was going to post about this earlier. I wonder if we're all suffering from "Seasonal Affective Disorder?" I've been eating a ton of bread and left-over Halloween candy. Unusual for me since I prefer fruits and vegetables. One of the symptoms of SAD is craving starch and sweets.
Maybe we can all go to Hawaii for some light therapy...

For me, it's either that or my increased Wellbutrin isn't working, or there is my demons acting up. Last week was hell and I am now flat. Not more depressed because last week I was in despair so I am not sure I could get further down. Being flat is a state I am familiar with. My session with T was draining and not sure if at all helpful. So maybe it is a combo of things including this dreary weather and earlier darkness.
Whatever it is it needs to go away.

I on the other hand am not doing too badly.
Lucky me.
I hope you guys that are struggling can try and maybe get outside as much as possible on good days.
Eat well.
Try and connect w/others IRL as much as you can.
Be GOOD to yourselves!
I am sure fullash*t eh?
Knowitall.
Sometimes I make myself wanna hurl!
But I AM sincere in my caring.
Even if sometimes my sappiness is enuf to gag a maggot!
Hoping maybe you found a smile?
Take care all,
Muffled
LOL!
Somewhat crude, but not awful joke below....A family took their frail, elderly mother to a nursing home and left her, hoping she would be well cared for. The next morning, the nurses bathed her, fed her a tasty breakfast, and set her in a chair at a window overlooking a lovely flower garden. She seemed okay, but after a while she slowly started to tilt sideways in her chair. Two attentive nurses immediately rushed up to catch her and straighten her up.
Again she seemed okay, but after a while she slowly started to tilt over to her other side. The nurses rushed back and once more brought her back upright. This went on all morning. Later, the family arrived to see how the old woman was adjusting to her new home.
"So Ma, how is it here? Are they treating you all right?"
"It's pretty nice," she replied. "Except they won't let me f*rt."

I have been bothered by the shortened daylight hours all my life - not officially diagnosed with SAD, but my pdoc who has known me for 4 years, decided it was time to try a light box.
I have been using the light box for about 6 weeks and I have noticed a subtle but definite improvement in mood and also sleep. I am an insomniac for several years (I blame it on benzo tolerance, a different issue), but since i have used the light box my sleeping time has also improved.
One good thing, my psychiatrist fought my insurance company to cover the cost of the light box and they did!

Autumn (Fall) brings me mixed feelings - I love the colours of the leaves and the fresh crisp weather - when the skies are a beautiful blue.
I don't like nights drawing in though. This week I had to leave early to attend a course, so each morning I had to walk in the dark with my dogs - in the rain - it's miserable. My depression seems worse now - maybe the darkness and weather have an effect. This cold weather also affects my skin and makes me feel grotty.
I should be happy I don't live further north. I have friends in Finland and Sweden who live in the land of the midnight sun - in the winter months they have pretty much no daylight - can you imagine that!
