My T Has Cancer

Posted by sassyfrancesca on November 5, 2008, at 8:08:05

He told me last night......he had a biopsy below his eye, and now they are going to operate (December 15th)...Supposedly it is the most common kind of cancer, etc.....but it was a shock to hear that....he just said: "I have cancer."

I was shocked, then felt sad and anxious.

Love, Sassy

If it's the "most common" type of skin cancer, it's either squamous or basal cell. Removal is very routine, not disfiguring, and results in pretty much 100% cure. Almost every Caucasian gets at least one- and some people get many- of these when they get older. It's really not considered that big a deal, the way cancers located inside the body are. Is he playing on your sympathy?

He said he might have to have plastic surgery (depending on how deep they have to go)

Sassy, I'm so sorry. I think this would be about the only thing that would freak me out more than my T moving.

It's very shocking. So how long will he be out? I'm assuming the prognosis is good?

(((TherapyGirl))): Thankyou. Oh, he won't be out; he will be wearing a patch on his eye, and the prognosis is very good.

Hugs, Sassy
