anyone have a brain like this?

Posted by obsidian on October 22, 2008, at 22:10:38

sorry for the repeat of this deja vu attack topic from me, but they are just so weird...

I have been exhausted, I am prementrual, sleep deprived, crying off and on...so yesterday I get another one of those super deja vu attacks, everything done and seen before with anxiety and a fear of blacking out, which ended with a little headache. I was at work, but thankfully by myself in the ladies room at the time...felt a bit foggy a while after that
then again today, no headache, but everything starts to feel weird again, deja vu, and things just don't seem real
they don't last long, maybe a minute?
my brain is short circuiting
I took my meds, and I am going to bed!!

anyone else get these lovely things?

You might want to look at this, particularly the section on links with disorders and psychopharmacology.

I had several episodes when I went cold turkey from all my meds at once. I also had several other temporal lobe experiences at that time. I think it's neurological rather than psychological and you might want to check with a neurologist. Since it can also be related to meds (at least it was for me) you might want to talk about it with your psychiatrist as well.

It's a scary feeling, but it's most often a physiological thing. There's no need to be afraid. It's just something that happens.

Although it is admittedly disconcerting and it *feels* scary. If I wasn't so well aware of my withdrawal I think it would have scared me. As it was I was mostly just interested in seeing what would happen and wondering whether it was the depakote, klonopin, or luvox withdrawal that was doing it.

I always thought it meant you had done the same thing, been in the same place before and it was happening again only couldn't remember when and have had this happen many times though not lately. I do get triggered by things my kids say all grown and lately am dreaming of their father and his wife and how happy they look. It should be me growing old with the father of my kids so it makes me sad. Love Phillipa

thanks dinah,

I'll bring it up again when I see my pdoc next week.
I know this stuff is normal to a certain extent and related to the temporal lobe, but I wonder how often is normal.
Maybe I should get my head scanned.
we'll see
