Today I was supposed to meet a friend about 20 minutes away from my house. But I ended up calling him to cancel. The thought "maybe I'm not ready" kept going through my mind. It confuses me because how do I know if it's true or not? (How do I know when I am ready and how do I know when I am not?) There will be times when I am nervous, regardless if I am ready or not. I can be nervous and be ready. I can be nervous and not be ready. I can be calm and ready. I can be calm and not ready.
The thought comes up a lot when I am nervous about doing something. Even when I am nervous about doing something that's good for me.
My old T told me once that if I think I will enjoy doing it or being there and am nervous, I should try to get myself there. If it's something I don't enjoy or care about and I'm nervous about it, it's probably OK not to go.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

>I'm going to say - listen to your intuition here. If you don't feel that you are ready, then that is the feeling to go with. When you are ready, you will know, because you will be doing it.

I always make myself go and if I didn't self-hate makes me feel worthless so I just go and get through it doesn't make me feel like I accomplished anything though. Ugg I don't like it. Phillipa
