This is what I think is going on here....
Dr. Bob is not absent. I think he's very aware of everything going on here, and is probably on this site daily. He is a scientist, so I bet it's interesting for him to watch the natural evolution of a site like this....i.e. what we do here (with the site, with our relationships to each other, etc) when left to out own devices. Can you imagine what an amazing scientific paper that would be for some scientific journal??? I bet this theory is that, when left to our own devices, a site like this will fail (sink into chaos) because psych patients are ultimately, and by definition, unstable, needy, etc.
So, if you all want to get back at him for real, then lets disprove his theory. Let's not let any of the admin issues get to us. Let's function just as before. Let's focus on ourselves and our issues, and not care whether he's here or not. Who cares? We don't need him to supervise us. We can make this site our own. We can be mature, funcitoning adults, and use this site to make ourselves stronger....not to upset and frustrate us. We cannot give in. We are stronger than that, and we are above any trivial theory he may be trying to prove.
What do you guys think???

2. You suggest this may be an experiment.
3. You act like you have everything all figured
out.
4. You use "we" statements like you have been an
intimate part of this group, which you haven't.
5. I exchanged b-mails with you. I felt you
were quite defensive as far as Dr. Bob was
concerned. I played your game for a few days.
6. I think this was an experiment and a very
cruel one, especially one involving people
who rely so heavily on these boards for
support.
7. I can't speak for anyone else. This is what I
think and what I feel. It is my opinion.
8. I no longer care to be a "lab rat" in any more
experiments.

Please don't accuse Moonlight Sonata of being Dr. Bob, or having the motives you ascribe to Dr. Bob.
It's not that I think you're crazy. I think you're upset with Dr. Bob's absence. It's natural to try to look for order and reason in what is upsetting and confusing. It appears that Moonlight Sonata is also trying to find order and reason.
Dr. Bob is not experimenting with the site. In the registration, Dr. Bob explains that while he may use quotes from the site for articles, the site is not considered research. The academic institutions have rules governing this, and his posing as another poster would not be allowed.
I understand that you're upset with the administration of this site, and don't feel it has been sensitive to your feelings. But please don't jump to conclusions about others, or post anything that could lead others to feel accused or put down.

If I were Dr. Bob, and if I were trying to prove my theory that this site would go to anarchy....why would I WARN you people, why would I tell you how to DISPROVE that very theory??? Does that make any sense?
You're right, I haven't been as involved as some of the other members on this site. And I have been away for quite a few months. But I'm starting to see the problem here. You are all so tensed up and frustrated at the admin issues that you leap at each others throats at the drop of a hat, attacking people for simple ideas or suggestions.
In my post,I was merely trying to suggest that, even if this were an emperiment, so what???? What if your words get used in a paper??? It's not you. It's not your identity. Your identity is anonymous - that is the whole POINT of a site like this. Stop obsessing about things you have no control over, like the admin. Like Bob's schedule. Use this site for the support you need, that's all. That's the suggestion I was making with my post.
And don't attack people who post here, because they're the ones that can give you that support.
