Philosophy of the Late Charles Schultz

Since some of you are big Charlie Brown fans, I thought you might enjoy this quiz from his creator:
1. Name the 5 wealthiest people in the world.
2. Name the last 5 Heisman trophy winners.
3. Name the last 5 winners of the Miss America contest.
4. Name 10 people who have won the Nobel or Pulitzer prize.
5. Name the last 5 Academy Award winners for Best Actor/Actress.
6. Name the last decades worth of World Series winners.

How did you do? Probably not too well. We don't often remember the headliners of yesterday, even though they are not second-rate achievers. They are the best in their fields. But the applause dies. Awards tarnish. Achievements are forgotten. Accolades and certificates are buried with their owners.

Here's another quiz:
1. List a few teachers who aided you through school.
2. Name 3 friends who have helped you through a difficult time.
3. Name 5 people who have taught you something worthwhile.
4. Think about a few people who have made you feel appreciated and special.
5. Think of 5 people you enjoy spending time with.
6. Name a half dozen heroes whose stories have inspired you.

Easier? The Lesson...the people who make a difference in your life are not the ones with the most credentials, the most money or the most awards. They are the ones who CARE! I would say those people are our fellow BABBLERS!!! I thought this was kind of neat. What does everyone else think?

That is so great - thanks for posting it. We humans are sadly prone to losing our perspective on some of the most important things in life - it's just part of our nature to do so. My faith helps me try to see things completely differently, but there are many and varied ways to do that.

You just helped restore some of the "big picture" in a wonderful way :-)

btw....Peanuts ROCKS! - 10der

BEAUTIFUL!!!! Thanks :-) (nm) » I need a hug

Sigh LO, I couldn't do the second test either really, but i understand the spirit in which it is said.
I could answer some questions, but not alot. I can think of a person or two who probably tried to help me.
I don't have much memory.
I dunno, I don't really like to think bout it too much.
But anyhow, I think its saying as how its the little things in life that count, not necc the ginormo stuff. The small moments of happiness. The smile from a stranger that hits your heart. The babbler who writes something, and you KNOW they understand... Stuff like that.

I need a Hug, I had written a post but I see I must not have pushed the submit button I hate when I do that.

I loved the quiz. couldn't do all of them either. I think us babbler's rock as we help each other even when we don't always feel like it. Sorry right now my braining is racing and I can't stop it so I can't really type.

gotta go.....

PS I did love this though. rk

Dear littleone,
This isn't a test that you can fail. It is just a way of putting life in to a proper perspective.
Money, fame and awards aren't important. It's the little things that are important: a hug, a smile, a kind word, etc. Please read what Muffled wrote.
Is this helping you any? HUGS
