thx muffled.. i wanted to see why happyflower got blocked for 4 weeks.. I felt kind of bad for her even though I have just started and don't know the background here. she has so much going on and now is all alone. I can't judge anything though.. I have not been here and don't know the history. It can be kept that way. It is none of my business

*sigh, it IS hard. Hard that when we are struggling and as, a result screw up, thats when we get blocked.
However, now you can STILL chat, and you can still..either send or receive b-mails, can't remember which.
It used to be much worse as far as blocks go, now there seems to be more pbc(please be civil) etc. Which is good.
But my understanding is, is that our posts affect ALOT of people...there are MANY (lurkers we call them, NOT in a bad way AT ALL) that read but for a variety of reasons don't post. So I think in order to try and keep things 'safe' here, there are rules and if the rules keep getting broken, blocks.
Some REALLY struggle with trying to fit in within the guidelines, and MANY, after initial difficulties(like me!), manage to grow to better understand 'how it works', and as we sometimes say..learn the 'babble way'...
This is a small community...so in the small community way...well, for better or worse, stuff tends to be in the open alot.
I too will miss HF. She is a longtime babbler, and does know the rules, but is struggling mightily, and sometimes babble is just not the place to vent etc, as that makes it unsafe for others. This is the point where we might need to take a step back from babble, and I have done that myself, MANY times, cuz I know I am not going to be able to remain civil, cuz I all messed up in my head.
So I guess there's no easy answer to this very hard question of blocks....
I guess its a necessary, unfortunately sometimes hurtful evil :-( But its meant to keep this place a place where we can come and not live in fear of others attacking us etc.
That is why I admire the deputies, who are just other babblers who have been thru a 'training' with Dr.Bob, and volunteer their time and hearts to be deputies. Its a difficult thing to be a deputy and still also a regular babbler sometimes....Though really, I think that may have improved too??? I dunno.
I just know that babble is a gentler place now than when I first came here....

Muffled, you have a way of making me smile. Not to mention a wonderful way of seeing different points of view that I have learned from any number of times.

((((Muffled))))

You give so much here. I wish I could give back more.

I've always heard "In my humble opinion," which is why it's sometimes "IMNSHO" -- "In my not so humble opinion." It's a favorite of mine, as it happens...

Thank you, Muffled, for this and your other post here. As a deputy, it's very nice to see the sort of support you offer us -- and as a poster, the sorts of posts you write help make Babble that gentler place you describe.
