I don't feel like posting about myself anymore

Posted by slugdoo on August 4, 2007, at 8:38:34

It just feels too revealing to the whole world and the whole world can read this, and that makes me feel unsafe. I would feel better if only members can read, but the whole world, that just is scary. Someday, will I regret about the stuff I have written? Maybe so, but I don't want to take the chance anymore, because I take away what I have written. The more I write, the more revealing I might become to the outside world. I think I will stick to babblemails and emails. SInce our posts seem to last for years, I am concerned about that.

I understand completely and have thought the same myself. I know there are people who know me even from the list and who could do me harm if they so chose to do so. Take care of yourself.

That's a real problem, Slugdoo. I don't think it will happen. The archives aren't very searchable, as it happens. Not completely unsearchable-- but not very complete.

Do what you need to feel safe, though. It's very very important for us to provide safety for one another-- and ourselves. It's a complex issue, because of course we can't give one another as complete and real responses if we don't know one another. Yet allowing that to happen opens us up to other kind of unsafety.

I'm sorry you're not comfortable now. It's a very hard balance to strike.

Honore
