Special thanks to Daisy (and Racer.)
There was an ad in the paper for a job that I got turned down for, I emailed the person who rejected me and I saw him today. The person they hired didn't work out (please positive thoughts for her to get the right job) and I start on Monday. A job that uses my brain and pays okay! I have a 90 day probationary period, so failure at 50 still applies, but wouldn't it be a miracle if I was still there and doing well?

Way to go! No doubt, this company will soon realize the brilliance of their decision.
The universe is righting itself.

An awful lot would have to change for you to be a loser at 50 -- because you're not a loser now, and haven't been in the time I've known you. You've always been what you ae now -- one of the smartest, funniest -- and yes, most enjoyable people I've had the very great good fortune to know.
This guy is damned lucky, Poet. Think of what he's got now: a smart, funny, beatiful woman, with one hell of a great brain. You're so fabulous, I hope he can live up to you.
I was tickled when I got your message. Nearly drove off the road hooting and hollering for you. I'm so pleased for you, and hope they're good enough for you.
Oh, I was on my way home from dropping off paperwork from the Siamese Rescue at my vet's office. I hope Her Ladyship will have company soon.

And proud and impressed...I bet it took some courage to email after they initially didn't give you the job. Way to go!
Have a great day on Monday! And enjoy your weekend too, of course!

I think my T expected to see me drag myself in today. I got the job late yesterday afternoon so I decided to surprise her this morning. Of course, now she has to find evening appointments for me, which means working around my classes, but she fit me in for the next two weeks.
So I have a job, two sessions with my T that work with my school schedule, and lots of faith in me from all of you. I don't have much in myself, what's in my head, is from you and my T.

Hi Happyflower,
I start on Monday. It's a good thing it's spring break so I can ease into studying/doing homework at night, it's been a long time. I can do this, I can do this...

The atmosphere of the office felt so much friendlier and lighter than the last place. Someone actually showed me wear to hang my coat, asked what kind of soda I liked (it's FREE) and I can wear jeans. My kind of place.
I'm still taking clonazepam, but no panick attacks in sight!

That's great, Poet. I completely understand the anxiety, having just gone through this 4 months ago. It took me about 3 weeks to finally settle down -- of course, some of my anxiety was due to spending 13 years at the workplace from h*ll. So as soon as I figured out nice, sane people worked where I work now, I was able to relax and let go.
Hope it continues to go well. The hardest day is behind you!

Hurrah Poet! I hope you asked for diet Coke with Lime. :)
I think it is great that the atmosphere is so relaxed. I can't wait to hear what your therapist says about how you are managing your stress. I bet she is bursting at the seams with pride!!
You go girl...

It's amazing how finding a place to hang your stuff and a road map to the bathroom can make a big difference on day one of a new job!
I'm so happy that the hardest day is now behind you.
Do you like the type of work they are giving you too?
Spring really is a time for new beginnings ...

That's great, Poet! An auspicious start.
Cross your fingers and toes for me; I start this morning as a volunteer at a local science center. It's the closest thing to a job I can manage right now. Scared stiff of making a fool of myself.
