but couldn't. It took all the courage I had just to phone and nothing. I didn't care who I saw, I just asked for it not to be a guy, and they can't fit me in at all.I don't understand at all!

Arrgh.
That is so frustrating! It's hard to make that phone call. Someone should be willing to help you in some way, to make suggestions about other places to try if they're truly unable to take you at this time.
I couldn't believe how hard it was to find someone interested in seeing me. I had almost given up when I found my therapist.
I know it's hard, but is there any other place that you can try?

I'm only here for like another 5-6 weeks, so it seems hardly worth it to find someone else. I was trying the t's here at the uni. There's 4 of them. 3 females and 1 male. The lady in the office said that I had to get special permission or something to see another female because the t I was seeing is on mat leave and it's a male who's taken over for her. She had told me that if she was away, I could specify who I wanted to see! Again, this school and it's stupid admin ppl. I guess I'll go see if e-mailing maybe the head of the department will change anything ...

They CANNOT expect a female to see a male if they don't want to.

Damn I wish I was there, I'd tell them a barrel of sh*t to shut em up for awhile.

Thanks IWS! No reply yet, but hopefully soon!!! If I don't hear anything soon, I'll phone back and just pretend I didn't see anyone earlier in the year. Maybe then they'll be more accommodating. Grrrr

That's frustrating. My uni counselling centre wouldn't see me either because I'd seen them before. They determined my problems were long term so they wouldn't see me. Thankfully my pdoc at the uni will see me for long term. I'm lucky she does therapy.

So I met with the new t today. She seems nice. She had me try out some breathing exercises which were really hard for me. Sitting still is very hard for me to, let alone sitting still not really doing a whole lot. Unlike the other t's I've had through uni's she didn't ask if I wanted to come next week, she was just like "okay so when can you come next week?" which surprised me, but in a good way.
