I don't know if there's been any research into it whether it's effective what-so-ever, but it seems to me, hypothetically, like something that could be helpful.
Anyone with any experience or information on the subject?

I found this:
http://www.medicalnewstoday.com/medicalnews.php?newsid=8945there were a bunch of half-a$$ed sites out there but that one seemed more legit.
They seem to be saying that it isn't meant to be a stand-alone treatment, but I guess that depends on the client and severity. They say that it increases the benefits of other treatments, but I am not quite sure how they would measure this other than by anecdotal info.
SOme people are less able to be hypnotized (sp?). I think I would be one of those. If you have trust issues, or past traumas then hynosis might be difficult. I couldn't possibly hand over that level of access to someone, even though I know hypnosis is not what TV makes it out to be.
There is also a wikipedia article on hypnosis in general. It includes stuff about self-hypnosis.
This is the end of the thread.
