Hi..
I am trying to think of a good, meaninful, personal gift for my T..She accepts gifts, and I've given her many personal gifts along the years. She says right now the greatest gift would be if I can trust and talk with her ...
I am trying, but I want to give her something meaningful next week.I'm a bit lost because I've already given her so much...I've made drawings for her (I draw) about our work together, I've painted a tea box for her, I've made a video , a CD for her, i've baked cookies for her, all things handmade mostly..that she truly valued...I've made a story (drew it, as a comic strip) about our work together too, and a lot of things like that.
I am considering what could be a good gift now and I can't think of any...
I've been thinking of some possibilities..She has shared lately a film that was meaningful to her because of her own life history, and also in relation to our work together, about the need to illuminate the past and face what happened and the danger of keeping secrets. I've watched it too and since then she makes comments about it...I was thinking of maybe making a drawing about the film...together with something else..I'm trying to decide that "something else"..
the things that have crossed my mind are:
- a small beautiful bonsai...for her to take care of, and as a way to show her that I am willing to be vulnerable..and to thank her...she loves nature, plants and animals...
- a bird feeder painted by me..for her to put in her garden or balcony..during our sessions there are always birds singing and she loves them.
- I also thought of an antique compass....or a lighthouse...or something like that....I don't know...
what do you think?Thank you !
Frida

I don't know, but the bird feeder idea really struck me as a something that sounded like it could be meaningful to both of you. But go with whatever you feel is best. I want to give my T something this year, but I don't know that I can. I can't think of anything good enough. My artistic talent isn't that great.

Hi Frida,
I like the idea of painting a bird feeder since you know she likes birds.

I love both the bonsai tree and the birdfeeder ideas -- they seem so connected to the work you're doing.
You are so lucky to be so creative and to have a T who doesn't mind you sharing it with her!
This is the end of the thread.
