Wow gg, this must be the month of bad pdocs/Ts! I'm sorry she is so unhelpful, and good for you for firing her! Shes obviously not too bright or competent. I hope your next pdoc is much better for you.

She sounds pathetic!!! She shouldn't be in the helping profession since she doesn't seem to have any empathy what so ever!
I'm glad you fired her!!!

I'm such a dweeb, I had to actually complete the assigned task.

She is...well...I would be wasting a lot of asteriks on her if I complete that. I'm very glad she is banished from your life. You deserve a LOT better.

> A. I don't feel desired. 6. He’s probably gay.

> B. I wake up in the middle of the night. I'm not getting enough rest. 10. Just go back to sleep.

> C. I have atypical depression. 7. You’re acting like a child.

> D. I’m still struggling with this task. 9. You need to stop navel-gazing.

> E. I'd like to review the treatment plan. 12. I’m not going to make any changes to your medications until you graduate.

> F. I'm bingeing now, and I never used to. 11. Have sex instead of eating chocolate.

> G. I'm having trouble with word substitution and word-finding. It seems worse than usual. 4. That can’t be because of the medication.

> H. I'm worried the medication is not having the same effect as it once did. 8. You’ll be back next year crying your crocodile tears.

> I. I've been much more distracted recently, and I can't seem to get anything done. 3. You’re probably just still stressed because of the deaths in your family.

> J. I've had diarrhea for the last two weeks. 1. It’s probably the anxiety.

> K. I've noticed this odd sensation in the back of my skull. 2. That’s a psychotic symptom of depression.

> L. I've tried all kinds of tricks, but I still lose track of time quite a lot. 5. Wear a watch.
>

May fav, if it's accurate is her treatment plan! D'oh!! How'd I do? (((((GG)))))

Did I miss something-- and where is it?-- or is this sudden?

I'm glad you fired her, if she's been causing you to feel not-good--

that's a tough thing to do though. How do you feel, now that you've done it?

Yeah, I somehow walked into her office as an adult and left feeling like a child each time. Took awhile nad some repetition from wise folks, but I finally figured it out.

Thanks. As a matter of fact, my T did refer me to someone. I know of this doc, and I can see him for free while I'm a student. Stars are aligned, I think.

LOL, it's hard to say. I do think combining options offers the best wholistic treatment, though. ;)

An actual med school and everything. Perhaps she was sick on the day they taught how to form an alliance with your client.

Thanks, me too. I don't know her reaction, though, because I cancelled my appt. this week and said I wouldn't be rescheduling to the receptionist. I called today and left a message for her to call me, though. Funny, I have some questions for her. Plus, I want to get my records.

I think she earned her "B.A." (bad attitude) from the school of Can't Contain my Disdain.

Extra points for incorporating Freud. :)

My current favorite is

J. I've had diarrhea for the last two weeks

along with

2. That’s a psychotic symptom of depression.

Although 10. Just go back to sleep could be amusing though messy.

Thanks for the giggles.

Hi,
Yeah, I haven't talked about her much. It feels good to have the little-girl sunglasses off now. Things look so much clearer and brighter. I feel good for making the decision, but I've also been obsessing about this stuff all week. I keep having these imagined conversations/confrontations in my head with her. Normally, I'd agree with my T that there's really no need for "closure" and that trying to discuss this with her would be useless. But I think it might be the best way to just get it out of my head.

We'll see how it goes when/if she calls back tomorrow. Either way, I'm not planning to resume treatment with her again. But I just really want to know what the heck she was thinking, for one thing.

Your post should be in a text book somewhere. Did she really say all those things? Shocking really. Maybe you should send her a letter with them all written down for her file.

Some people are just clueless....

I think my favorite is "go back to sleep." Yeah - I bet YOU didn't think of that...

I'd ask for a refund too, btw.

She really did say all these things. Some of them are pared down to the gist of the message versus including the whole dialog. There's always the possibility that I am twisting what she said for my own purposes. I've done some reflection and writing about this, though. Lots of reflection, and I think I'm representing the gist and/or tone pretty accurately.

And of course I'm sure she didn't literally mean all of them. Dear God, I hope not. Pity the rest of her clients, too, then. But...if she returns my call, I am certainly going to ask her about the "not making any med changes until..." comment as if I take her at her word about that. Something along the lines of, "My goodness, whyever would I need to come back to see you til then? I guess I can ask my GP to refill the 'scrips. Hmm, that would be cheaper, anyway, since it would be just a co-pay. Or did you intend to write me scrips for a year? Golly, I sure hope nothing changes in my physical and/or mental health during that time."

Or perhaps, "Golly, that wouldn't seem to meet minimal standards of care."

Or "Do you plan to assess my condition over that time period, despite knowing that you will not make any changes? I mean, why bother with that if it doesn't affect your treatment plan? That sure will be time saving."

Then there's always, "What's your problem, lady?"

And, "Wow, punishment by promising unethical care. That's an interesting approach. Have you used that with success before?"

I think I'm going to print out this game for her as a "parting gift".

And while I do want to go in to see her one more time (thought long and hard about this even though T doesn't recommend it), I certainly will not pay for it. Call it a Mulligan for her. I did think of adding up these comments, dividing by the total number of sessions and asking her for that proportion of her fees back. :)

Sorry for continuing to rant.
