In therapy last week we were talking about me coming on to my DH in my sleep and he thought that was strange because he never heard of anyone doing that.
Well I do a lot of weird stuff. Like if I am in a new situation like a job, I will dream about doing it(the job), but yet wake up and be aware of my surroundings, but yet still do what I was doing in the dream until I am totally awake
I know I talk alot in my sleep and I used to sleepwalk a lot as a kid.
Is this weird or unique just to me?

I did a search on sleep disorders and found out there is one called sleep sex, where you do sexual things to yourself or others during your sleep. Okay, I guess my T is right , I am strange.

Hi happyflower,
I don't sleepwalk or do any of the activities you mention, however! My husband does some strange stuff. A few times he has tried to make love to me in the middle of the night, and it didn't exactly work out right, because he was actually unconscious. Kind of funny, actually. Other times, he has had very loud and heated discussions (while sleeping) in his native language (which I barely understand). On a few occasions, he was actually trying to talk to me: Honey [blah blah blah blah blah ] HONEY! [blah blah blah]. I got really scared, and I woke him up. He was having a nightmare that I was trapped in a burning building. He also has fights in his sleep. He kicked me really hard once. I was pissed off. I showed him my bruised shin. He was sheepish. Anyways, husband has no psychopathology. He has an interesting personality, but has not reached diagnostic criteria for any DSM disorder (yet??).hope this helps-
for what it's worth, I don't think you're a freak.Nighttime is when we let our guard down, it's natural to do strange things!

Hi Happyflower,
I've had dreams where I yell outloud and wake my husband up. The last time it happened, he says when he said *what?* I said *I'm not talking to you I was talking to my father* and I was still asleep.
I have recurring dreams, too. No wonder I have chronic insomnia, my brain works overtime when I sleep. I stay awake to give it some rest.

**Whoah?!
Didn't you totally freak out??????????????
Manoman, I'd flip entirely if I woke up w/a guy on me, husband or not.
Sounds awful.
Both my kids do night terrors. My son sleepwalks.
Oh well.

Hey MUFFY!!!!
Well at the time I liked my DH and I was turned on so it was okay. But the other week when I woke up, I am lucky I did before it went that far because I don't want his icky hands on me or anything else for that matter.
I used to sleep walk a lot as a kid too, and I talk a lot in my sleep.

Apparently when I was really disturbed I actually started punching and kicking hubby but I was fast asleep and don't remember it. I refused to believe it too until the bruises came out and then it was kind of hard to deny

I once threw my DH out of the bed in my sleep. But I think he deserved it, it must have been my unconscience mind at work. LOL
